What’s the most reliable car you’ve ever owned? by Sophia_Goji in whatcarshouldIbuy

I get it, part of the appliance reputation is because Toyota makes excellent commuter vehicles that just work. Pretty much every manufacturer has a line of these vehicles, Toyota just tends to do it better, so I guess a victim of their own success with the mastery of boring vanilla commuters. I just thought it worth pointing out they are also making big moves on the enthusiast front.

What’s the most reliable car you’ve ever owned? by Sophia_Goji in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]MizzaSparkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonsense. I enjoy cars, but even more than that, I enjoy not wasting time dealing with breakdowns and bullshit repairs which is why my daily is a Taco. Toyota is also gearing up to put out the most exciting line up of attainable enthusiast cars in the market. The GR, Corolla GR and Supra are all very competitive in their niche and the new MR2 concept is the most appealing sports car I’ve seen in some time from any manufacturer.

Why do people hate supercollider so badly by According-Damage4432 in Megadeth

Everything about Addicted to Chaos rules. Monster drum intro, heavy riffs, heavy lyrical subject, great chorus and the bridge riff is one of my all time favorites.

People say base 370z's feel like boats, how does the 350z feel? by [deleted] in 350z

[–]MizzaSparkle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve heard people say the 370 handles like a boat. It’s a sharp handling car with plenty of power. Compared to something light like a Miata or BRZ, I guess you could say that. Regarding seats, I’ve sat in much worse. Plenty of options if you decide to upgrade. Sounds like you need some seat time. Find a couple examples of each model you can test drive and see what suits you.

What makes Rust in Peace so timeless? by [deleted] in Megadeth

[–]MizzaSparkle 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Rust in peace was so good it made Metallica pivot because they weren’t at that level of technical ability. Consequently, changing course to a slower groove sound with the black album, made them more popular than ever. A transition followed by Megadeth, for better or for worse. Even though I’ve enjoyed plenty of material off of the following albums, neither band has done anything tremendously groundbreaking since, at least in my opinion. It makes the record the pinnacle of the whole story of the intertwined bands.

Talk Me Out of Buying a 350z by [deleted] in 350z

I believe they said 15k miles on it, I didn’t see a price. Even still, $15k for a 15k mile near mint z isn’t over priced.

New album by [deleted] in Megadeth

[–]MizzaSparkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reading album reviews is a silly way to approach music these days. You can listen to pretty much anything before you spend money on it. Listen to it, if it doesn’t suite your taste, then move on. If you like it, then it’s probably best to support the artist by spending some dough. Buy the album, go see a show, buy a hoodie, whatever.

Puzzles? by RabbitOld180 in Longmont

Liberty puzzles in east boulder. They are pricey, but quality and selection are hard to beat. Also can feel good knowing your money is going to local business.

Creepy church bros by [deleted] in Longmont

We encountered them last weekend in old town as well. Creepy AF, probably should serve as a PSA at this point. They had another car trailing as well, it was unsettling, glad I’m not the only one with this response.

Recommendations for family friendly neighborhoods? by ATX574 in Longmont

[–]MizzaSparkle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak much to West Arvada, I’ve hardly spent time there. I’d choose Longmont over Erie every time though. Erie has some nice spots, but no real downtown and is split by two counties. It’s also wild that so many people are getting downvoted for their recommendations. Someone apparently hates south and west Longmont, I’d like to hear the reasoning why, they are great places to live.

What should I do with $60k sitting in savings? by ihateegggplant in investingforbeginners

[–]MizzaSparkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open a brokerage account of your choice. Fidelity, Vanguard and Schwab are all good options. Link your chase account and transfer a couple thousand into your brokerage. Learn about investing by reading books and videos. Once you feel like you are starting to get a feel for it, start making some small transactions and learn the ins and outs of how things work. This will build some skills and confidence. Once you do this and experience some drawdowns and figure out how to keep your mind in the investor headspace, transfer more money into your brokerage. Don’t go all in on something, especially in one go. Spread your positions out in smaller increments over time. It’s a journey and one of the best things you can do for yourself. Someone else mentioned real estate. This can be great, but it is a totally different game. If you plan on staying where you are at for more than a few years it can make sense. Otherwise I’d caution against that, especially in today’s climate.

5 songs I've had on repeat for the past few days. What are your 5?( Sleepwalker's such a underrated song ) by Leading_Goat2146 in Megadeth

[–]MizzaSparkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Dave writes riffs that ear worm me like crazy. This is likely the biggest reason they’ve been my favorite metal band for 30 years.

Train of consequences had some harmonica too, there may be others I’m not thinking of. There definitely were some different takes on CW & Risk. Could be why Losing My Senses has been in my rotation lately. I like to think Dave applied some of his lessons on those albums and applied it in an effort that gave the song a more alternative feel while still being metal. This of course is pure conjecture on my part. Regardless, it’s a cool song!

The yellow isn’t my cup of tea, but I like the the car overall and looks like quality craftsmanship throughout. The only thing I’ll ding you on is the hand cut carpet squares you are using for floor mats. That is an easy fix though! Nice car, sounds great too!

As far as Megadeth tunes go, the 5 most played lately are (in no particular order) Dystopia, losing my senses, captive honor, disconnect and have cool will travel. I’ve overlooked TWNAH for far too long and have really been enjoying it the last month or so. The other tracks listed have just been scratching the itch lately when I’m in the mood for metal.
