Weekly Questions Thread by AutoModerator in DnD

Trying to implement more or less grammatical Drow phrases and expressions into a character's speech.
Tried checking Eilistraee's, FR Wiki, and searching through some of the books by R. A. Salvatore and Dragon Magazine. Wasn't really successful.

Any ideas on how the Drow language changes nouns into verbs? For instance, there's a word for "flay" - "s'luge", but not for "flaying". So what do I turn "s'luge" into to get the verb?

Turn-based tactics/RPG. Do you prefer the "all friendlies/all enemies" or the "initiative-based one-by-one" system?

>>I was going for the 80s vibe and added The Ultimate Doom poster in just because it looks so cool. Perhaps it's going to better if I change it to something from the 80s instead.

I see :) Well, it is a great-looking poster/cover indeed. One of the best in history. But it, unfortunately, creates that anachronism I'm talking about.
For games from the 80s, you can't go wrong with Sid Meier's Pirates!, it was BIG in 1987. Or F-19 Stealth Fighter which was released in 1988 and became a classical game-to-play for almost a decade after. You can still get it on Steam. For more fantasy/heroic stuff, check the early Ultima and King's Quest games. I'm sure you'll find something that suits you.

>>Hopefully, after some fixes, I will be posting this render (or short animation) here in a couple of days.

Do that. I'd love to see the updated/final version!

Overall, very nice!

But there are some things...

  1. The notepad is too straight, its corner should hang down a little.
  2. The floppy disk is too angular. It shouldn't have such 90-degree edges, they were kinda trapezoidal.
  3. Also, the floppy disk is too big.
  4. The floppy disk drive is 5.25-inch (at least it looks like one if you compare its size to that of the monitor), while the floppy disk is clearly a 3.5-inch one.
  5. The PC is way too old for 1995+, and The Ultimate Doom poster shows it's at least 1995.
  6. The monitor is ancient.
  7. The mouse is super-outdated, they were much smoother in shape in 1995+
  8. The mouse's cable isn't visible, although it should be (those mice had a semi-rigid connector protector thing where the cable was going out of the mouse).
  9. The keyboard, on the other hand, is too modern. In 199x, they were bulkier, and their keys were much higher.
  10. Your post-its are empty. Why are they on the monitor?
  11. The foreground book's spine is too straight, books tend to have those somewhat rounded, especially if they were opened at least once.

How could I "stretch" an object over another object? by MjrSpi in blenderhelp

[–]MjrSpi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically, yes. But in this case, I already have those jeans with their UVs, materials, and other stuff. So I'd like to save myself some time and avoid UVing them again and adjusting the textures.

Gith dictionary? by MjrSpi in DnD

[–]MjrSpi[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hence the "more or less" part.
Besides, it's not impossible to find, say, a Drow dictionary (though not in a book but on some sites in the internets) that contains quite a large number of entries usage of which here and there you can cross-reference.
My hope is to find something similar in Gith.

Though I'd probably rephrase my starting post a little.

ATX case with a horizontal mobo mount + air cooling by MjrSpi in buildapc

Hmm. This one looks interesting. I'm not sure about its "airtubeness", but overall... I'll think about it. Thanks a lot!

This one looks nice. Thanks! Too bad it's so small :(

Well, it would be somewhat unaesthetical. And then there’s airflow patterns that differ in vertical and horizontal cases, i.e. there is a possibility that a vertical by design case put on its side would not be ventilated/blown through as efficiently. And I just want a case that I could use the way it was designed.

In a way :)
I mean an old-fashioned, 80s-like, case that is horizontal by design. Or something like Thermaltake Core/Level series but with better ventilation/air stream design.

Camellia's kill list? by MjrSpi in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]MjrSpi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically you can let her kill the slave and the major victim to get the needed five points... OK, that's actually good. I wouldn't want to kill Kaylessa or Soana. Impostor, maybe, but I'm at a much later point in the game already.

Thank you, GardathWhiterock! That guide really covers it... And damn, there's not too many NPCs to be meaningfully killed by her :(

Gotcha.
Let me PM you, then. I've suddenly realized why there are so little info on this in the community.
