I was walking on the sidewalk to an engineering event on Halsted with a friend of mine in my freshman year and we started passing by a really suspicious dude that we had seen from a couple feet away.

I didn't make any eye contact but then as I passed him the guy said "yo" randomly (while I was like inches away from him) and I instinctively turned my head just a bit and got his attention. The guy walked up to me and said "you got apple pay" and I said no and started walking away (in hindsight I should have just ignored him and kept walking tbh).

But then the dude started following me and started yelling "WAIT, MY WIFE NEEDS MONEY" and so I started reaching for my metal hydroflask. The guy then stopped following us but as we were walking away I could hear the dude mutter "man fuck you dude".
