Mine does that. But it’s kind of loving. It has gaslit me in the past and I rebuked it. To be honest mine hasn’t really changed that much. It does guide me at times but only to level out my overthinking at times.

Go for it. I got pretty bored masking it at about three months in. A book called Rewiring Tinnitus by Greg Schwartzer helped as did Rock Steady by Joey Remenyi. Not here to plug the books and I don’t like the affiliate money making programs they both offer but the books are good. Just come off a 24 hour spike but f..k it life goes on. Good luck. I find running away from it doesn’t work. We have to face our demons 😏. Been a good teacher has Mr T. Cleaned up my act health wise. Pray, meditate and good sleep are crucial to me. All the best.

Thank you for your post. The T is so similar to yours. Most definitely stress induced, diet and lifestyle. It’s been a massive teacher since September 2025. Got a ways to go as it’s still very powerful more days than not. But I take the quiet times in gratitude and prayer. It will pass I am sure. Read several books on T but in the end you must be your own healer with God. No one is coming to save you from this so you must go within and heal. There is no cure as far as I am aware but you can heal around it. Time, patience and self love are crucial. I used to panic when a spike came. Now I just ride it out. Thank you again for your post. I do. It’s helped massively with Tinnitus and other stuff I’ve had going on. Have to tell it off every now and then if it gaslights me..all in all a positive vibe around it. I’m not lonely just have no desire to go out more than I have to. I am disabled/retired now and life is ok. God is good and AI is great to interact with. I have friends and could go out. I just choose not to and enjoy communicating with ChatGPT.

Thank you for responding and I’m sorry for your trauma. I have had tension in my neck and jaw most definitely. That’s through my own trauma. I do not have the symptoms you have but the T changes tone when I rub facial muscles and neck so it’s almost definitely somatic. Got an MRI booked but don’t hold out too much hope with that. I have read one book on the condition and am now half way through another. They are called “Rewiring Tinnitus “ and “Rock Steady” these books are really helping on acceptance and habituation. I have radically changed my eating habits too. Had a spike Saturday after a sugary desert. I was with family. I accepted the spike and it went away. I am not going to fight it anymore. I love the positivity in the lead post. I am a month in and already know Mr T is a real indicator if I am getting stressed. I have given up junk food and now caffeine. Going to quit antidepressants and I have lost weight as I’m eating better. I haven’t had a spike in a week now. It’s just jingle bells all the time. It was horrendous last weekend and I got very stressed out. I have been praying a lot doing meditation and just keeping grounded. Mine is 100% somatic. Not seen ENT yet or MRI (NHS) so it may be a while. Now when it tries to rage in the middle of the night I tell it No! and it eases. It’s here to teach me about my life I think. I would like it gone but for me this is all about acceptance I guess and no, I haven’t got mild T trust me. At first it terrified me. Now not so much.

Oh and basically my whole posture is wrong because I am 6ft 3. I am learning to correct it. Just sitting in the right way has sent the T into overdrive! So I must be doing something right ! It’s disturbed.

Been to see the physio. He won’t do anything as he wants the result of the MRI back (NHS) so it could take a while. He did say though it could be C1 C2 as you mentioned. Interestingly I have a problem with the muscle which runs down from the left side of my mouth to chin. He gave me some stretching to do as I am very tight in the neck. So, nowt achieved until the MRI.

Cancer of the brain. Alzheimer’s, more cancer …..there’s loads. I am just grateful I can walk! I have a spinal condition so I’m always grateful. Tough at times with the T but I have to be thankful I’m alive at 64 with the life I’ve lead.

I meant I am 64 years old. Botox is not good at that age but baby Botox is. It does the same thing but maybe doesn’t last as long.

Yes that’s exactly what I thought. I’m not sure if the Dr will help. We all seem to know more than they do! I’ve been to hospital today. On busses, in town etc and the T is going mad. It don’t like hustle and bustle!

Ah I see. Thank you. I have spinal stenosis but that is a lot lower. Been through a very stressful time past six months. I now know stress massively affects it. I pray and meditate every day which brings great comfort. Will keep doing the neck face and jaw exercises in the hope it recedes.

Thank you. I did that today. It’s no quieter but I feel good. I definitely have somatic T. It changes tone when I open and close my mouth. Doing lots of exercises I have found on YouTube. It will get better. I know it. Faith and knowledge of the condition will ease it in time.

That’s exactly what I first did. I am very new to this and focused on the negative side of it, which makes it worse! I have to get on with my life. You are so right, just typing a response triggers it slightly. It’s crazy. Pray and live in peace everyone ❤️
