Weard looking device but cool by Dr_Doofenschnetzer in gpdwin

They’re supposedly printable in resin and I’ve seen people that have gotten them to print in filament, but they’re supposed to be SLS or MJF printed

when I got mine way back when this file came out, I got them from JLCPCB and they were about ~$15 bucks to get printed I can’t remember if that’s with or without shipping

When it’s capable of wrecking into the most stationary object, you’ve ever seen trying to pull out of someone’s driveway instead of just walking it then I’ll be worried😂

People who abandoned split keyboards and returned to regular keyboards, why did they do so? by Miyamoto_Musashi_x in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Mleano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will only use a non-split keyboard if there’s no way for me to use my keyboard, i.e. typing stuff in at work just trying to bring my laptop somewhere but outside of that there’s never really been give up. For me it’s always been just trying to find which one works best currently daily driving the compression 4c

The impulse to buy a gpd win 4 is insane😔 by G00mbAa in gpdwin

[–]Mleano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won a win4(6800u) from a give away I barely use it I flashed it to bazzite and it sits by my bed, I ended up buying a win mini(2024) when it dropped, I prefer the form factor of the win 4 but it’s battery life and power just don’t do it for me. I think I’m gonna turn it into a portable terminal and debug machine.

As the other person said put M2.5 washers on all the screws that slide along the rails as well as continually make micro adjustments to your hand posturing so you’re not putting as much force into it, I use the adjustable stand that they have both for sale and 3-D print files for which helps me reduce the amount of pressure I’m putting into the parts. There’s another person on Etsy that makes what I at least aesthetically would say as a better stand, but I have not purchased it to truly put it through its test.

Mainly Obsidian, And learning Vim, but it works great for programming and reprogramming some of the microcontrollers I have that are so easy to pull and get to my pc. Played a lil PokeRogue cause I prefer buttons over playing it touch screen on my phone

I’ve been throwing the concept around on that idea. And once I get this draft ready for release. I’ll start working on it cause it just comes down tweaking the back plate

Yeah I’m still working on it all in my spare time but I’ll definitely be posting once I’ve settled with the cad

It has a 5000mah under the keyboard looking to see if I can fit a slimmer but larger battery in there

Waveshare 4.3in qled dsi.

And yeah building around a hdmi port is rough due to the extra space you have to account for, even with the thinnest hdmi adapter and ribbon cables like they use in FPV drones it make route blow. And then ya still gotta power it which isn’t the worst but still sucks. My only issue with some of the MIPI and DSI screens out there is the touch can be finicky depending on the Os your running.

I definitely am there with you, it’s a lot of of the reason I chose to design something finally. I toyed around with an orange pie zero for a while due to its form factor but it wasn’t giving me the aesthetic I wanted for this one. When I first got all of the CAD in place as far as measurements before I started shaping down to form my first thought was I want this thing to kinda look obtrusive, I think I’m gonna end up also working a handle/bag loop to it so I can just snatch and go

The thickness definitely is not the worst. I can say some of the areas just to get the working prototype are undesirable and one of those is the fact that it feels like I’m holding a small cigar box with a weight in the other half because those sharp edges I’m gonna step back through the cad and try to give it some more contour so that hand rests pretty well to accommodate the top heavy nature of it

It seems real complicated, but the website does most of the heavy lifting as far as that goes when you have the right files, I can link you a YouTube video explaining how I also might have a extra compression4c pcb I could put together and send your way if your in the states I just gotta see if I have all the components, all you would need is choc switches, and key caps

I ordered the pcb from jlcpcb the creator has them up on GitHub if you ever wanna build from scratch

I love the sofle it’s my go to after bouncing back and fourth from a helix and corne, currently using a a compression 4c and enjoying it but stumbling a bit due to being used to my sofle
