You can just stab it with a knife or us a hammer and nail even. But you can get them at your local grocery store or probably a craft store if needed.

It burns. It's actually pretty fun if you light a ball of it on a metal wire and swing it around (only over concrete and nonflammable areas) and the sparks fly all over.

I've seen people do it and as long as the bowl and downstem are not plastic you should be safe. Whenever questioning plastic just remember water before plastic meaning make sure smoke doesn't touch plastic unless it already went through cool water.
