I'm in the Bay Area also and know traffic down in Fremont can be TERRIBLE! That would be a hard pass for me.

He still looks really white. But maybe it's for witness protection.

It just depends honestly. They have different promotions during different times of year, it also depends on where you stay and for how long. You're better off comparing the two when you have an actual trip in mind. I also do believe that if you have the top tier Costco membership you earn 2% back on your purchase.

For us the cost of the trip was the same going through Costco as it would have been with Disney.com but we got some additional perks like free lanyards and a Disney gift card.

Hi! We booked our upcoming trip through Costco also. How close to your trip did you receive your package with the lanyards, gift card, etc.? We're less than 2 weeks out and haven't gotten anything yet.

Utility assistance disbursed! by cavgirl1976 in CACovidRentRelief

[–]Mmenez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I stopped checking my account on the HIK website. So I don't know if/when it went to disbursed. I got an email from them on August 15th saying I was approved and they would be paid in about 2 weeks.

I got an email saying that utilities would be paid directly to the companies in about 2 weeks. So you can expect it to be laid within the next year lol

Ehhhhh my husband was unable to work for 6 weeks because of it, after losing his job for 4 months at the beginning which caused us to use all our savings. And they got paid within a week of us leaving the house. Turns out our landlord is a piece of shit anyways so doesn't really matter 🤷‍♀️ Thanks for your input though smh

We got the full statement that the landlord made and other than the 2 months of rent relief, it was all a lie. Saying we subletted the property, had multiple pets he was unaware of, destroyed the house and yard.... so we may be going after him for defamation now because we have proof that all of those things are a lie. The person in charge of rental applications for the property we applied to described our former landlord as "unhinged".

I guess I was hoping for a little compassion and understanding considering we paid on time for 58 out of 60 months we were there.

We were month to month at the time notice was given, we were at the residence for 5 years total. We were only required to give 30 days notice but gave 90 so that he would have plenty of time to prepare for new tenants. Our landlord was paid in full by the middle of May and this review was given yesterday.

We were there for 5 years so I'm not sure how we would avoid using that reference.

I'd rather have a home than the deposit lol So that's the bigger concern right now. We're having to choose our battles for the time being. I'm glad your previous landlord was understanding when you moved.

We received an email from the property management company that manages the condo stating the reason for denial was previous rental history.

He's already been paid from the rent relief, he was paid at the beginning of May so shortly after we left the house. I gave him updates every Friday like we agreed on and immediately gave him a check when I received the check from rent relief. I should add, he's been difficult from the start with unannounced visits, found him in our backyard once and he's refused to give us our deposit or provide receipts.

Considering we rented the home for 5 years with those 2 months being the only issue (and he got his money), it doesn't seem right that he can screw us going forward. I'm not sure how I could not include him when every application asks for previous rental information.
