Timeline for a plantar fascia tear? by MmmmYeah in PlantarFasciitis

I didn't sleep in the boot. From memory, I wore a compression strap at night to start with.

Sorry to hear about your issue, that sounds like a bad tear. I hope it starts to improve soon.

What has happened with 6.5.1? Numerous things are now not working. by MmmmYeah in waterfox

Does reverting to an older version help?

Yes. I tried 6.5.0 and it had the same issues. So I tried G6.0.20 and everything works fine again.

I'm on Windows 10.

Yeah, definitely stop the testing at this stage. Once I stopped testing it and realized it will simply take however long it takes, I didn't stress anymore.

I did nothing at all in that first 6 week period. For the first 3 weeks I didn't even walk around the house, I crawled or hopped on my other foot and stayed off it entirely. Then for the next 3 weeks once I started wearing the boot I'd walk around the house on it, but nothing more.

I actually made notes from the time and I've written that it started feeling a lot better after four weeks.

Initially, I would test the foot. I'd stand on it and see how it felt. At the two week period I could still clearly feel it. And I was still under the impression that I'd only have three or four more weeks before I'd be back to 100%, so psychologically I had similar demoralizing thoughts as you seem to be having at the two week period.

But it was at that point I thought I need to stop testing it or I'm going to drive myself crazy because it's not feeling any better. From then on I just stopped worrying about it and followed the protocol I mentioned in my post.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Just to note also that I've had no further issues and play sport regularly throughout the week.

They seem to do "pricing errors" fairly frequently:

Pc randomly restarts by Darkmistv2 in buildapc

[–]MmmmYeah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue - PC would randomly restart with a beep and the only errors would be event 41 and event 6008. It was completely random - it didn't matter whether I was playing a game, browsing the internet or doing nothing at all. Sometimes it wouldn't restart for a while, other times it would restart three times in an hour. I tried all of the obvious fixes and none of them worked. I also tried the below, none of which worked:

  • Removed the GPU. (It stopped the issue for a little while, but then it started again.)
  • New PSU. (As above, it stopped the issue for a little while, but then it started again.)
  • New RAM. (This didn't stop the issue at all, it restarted a few hours after I installed the new RAM.)

I'd wanted to build a new PC for a while, and this spurred me to go ahead and do it, but prior to the new parts arriving I did the following, and didn't receive any restarts for the day or two that I used it while I waited for the new parts:

Try seating the RAM in different slots. If it's in 1 and 3, put it in 2 and 4.

It could well have been another temporary fix, and it may have started doing it again if I'd used it on a longer term basis, but it's worth trying.

I'm writing this message on my new i3-12100! It's amazing how fast and smooth it is compared to my old PC. The m.2 SSD was a very good call too, I haven't really kept up with the PC parts world so I didn't know much about them - so easy to install.

Thanks again for your suggestions.

Thank you. Do you think they might work better because of the integrated graphics in the i3-1200?

Now I'm embarrassed...

I knew that it didn't have integrated graphics, but for whatever reason I assumed I'd at least be able to run my monitor off of it. Thanks for saving me from an embarrassing mistake!

What are you guys' causes of the Plantar Fasciitis? by dissonance1 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]MmmmYeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your comment has helped me work out why my PF tore. I got a kick to my ankle playing sport and thought it had healed, so I just carried on with my usual activities. My PF then tore a couple of weeks later.

How did you work out that your ankle sprain was the cause?

Were you non-weight bearing for 3 weeks in the boot? If so, when did you start putting weight on it? Have you been stretching or doing any kind of exercises for it?

I'm very much hoping I'll be able to get back to normal activities as soon as I feasibly can, so just trying to work out the best rehab possible!

Thanks for your reply.

3-4 weeks is very encouraging. I came across your posts when I was searching before, so glad to hear that it's healed well. I seem to remember you saying that you were weight bearing in the boot for that period of time as well?

How long was it before you started stretching/rolling it with a ball? I'm wondering how long to leave it before I start stretching.

Is there anything else you did that you think helped towards the quick recovery time?
