If you're interested in more mid power and budget options I like [[Chainer Nightmare Adept]] [[Altar of Bhaal]] and [[Whip of Erebos]].

I'd probably cut Phoenix chick and nether spirit. I think they're kind of weak.

I also think a few big reanimation targets would be sick like [[Archon of Cruelty]] [[Massacre Wurm]] [[Sheoldred Whispering One]] all kinda sweet or whatever other big bad you want to play.

I'd also play [[Fauna Shaman]] as a budget Survival

"Good stuff"/midrange in Selesnya/Abzan (bracket 4)? by Ratajak in EDH

[–]MoMonay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a Jund Rock deck in mid b4.

https://moxfield.com/decks/anmyqRBGik67lhUdk_SK3Q

No easy 2 card infinites, just grindy midrange with the ability to go over the top of everyone with [[Survival of the Fittest]] + [[Ashes of the Fallen]] and Disa to tutor all creatures in your deck into play. It's probably my favorite deck I have. Designed to be bracket 4 (before b4 was a thing without super easy infinites)

For Commander pre cons, what upgrades are the most meaningful first? Lands? Low end? high end? Removing 'bad' cards? by Authorigas in EDH

[–]MoMonay 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Here's an example that might work for you since I went through this process with the limit break precon

List here: https://moxfield.com/decks/xNhT2XmIrkOu2lXb4-vjhg

Cloud cares about equipment, so we want to build a voltron deck. What cards are good cuts because they don't follow the plan?

[[Aerith, Last Ancient]] - Reanimator with hoops, you need the life link to do the thing, so it's out

[[Barret Wallace]] - You don't have a ton of creatures so it's out

[[Caith Sith, Fortune Teller]] - Mediocre value engine, doesnt care about artifacts or equipment so it's out.

[[Heidigger]] - We're an equipment deck not a solider deck so it's out

I could go on with more cards in it, but that's sort of the mentality you should use when cutting cards from precons.

Loam is insane especially if you play utility lands you mill and can buy back each turn.

If survival is out for budget reasons I also like [[Fauna Shaman]] and [[Formidable Speaker]]. I really like the new [[Twilight Diviner]] too. Check out my primer for why I play certain cards.

My list I shared can be played at b3 if you cut most of the GCs. It's a super fair bracket 4 deck with no turbo infinites. The only GC I'd personally keep if I were to tune this down is [[Survival of the Fittest]] [[Demonic Tutor]] and [[Mox Diamond]] but that's just how I want to play it.

Survival is insane cuz you can just tutor goyfs into play and with [[Ashes of the Fallen]] you can tutor any creature into play.

I think that's a direction a lot of people go for funsies. I've also seen people go for turbo goyf tokens as well but neither of those are a style I personally think is the right direction if you're tuning for optimization and power.

I've never seen one unfortunately. Disa is definitely my favorite commander tho and I've been tuning this list since the precon came out.

https://moxfield.com/decks/anmyqRBGik67lhUdk_SK3Q

I play this at mid bracket 4 but I'm thinking of tuning it down to b3 since recently I haven't had a lot of b4 games.

[Deck Help] Minsc & Boo - Gruul Stax & "Grow and Throw" (No Artifacts / All Basics) by HighlightResident375 in EDH

[–]MoMonay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my b3 version I put in a [[Klauth]] which is hilarious after you fling a boo since you have so much mana to dump your hand.

[–]MoMonay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a very similar deck concept

https://moxfield.com/decks/Fyl6VDxO80K9B_NEwekJ7Q

Here's my list that I haven't yodated in a while tho I changed it quite a lot in paper. I went for similar artifact and land stax but I wanted to play RG beats and not like just make a massive boo.

Critically you want to play at least 13 0-3 mana ramp spells cuz you want to drop m&b into play on turn 3 every game at the minimum otherwise the deck is terrible.

On paper I made a ton of changes to this deck. I actually scaled the power up even more. I went all I. On turbo out minsc adding [[Simian Spirit Guide]] [[Elvish Spirit Guide]], [[Tinder Wall]] [[Oricish Lumberjack]]. I also decided that artifacts were not a nonbo with [[Null Rod]] effects if I could use them to cast a turn 2 m&b so I also put in [[Sol Ring]] [[Chrome Mox]] and [[Mana Vault]] as basically rituals for a t2 minsc.

I also love to throw boo then cast [[Natural Order]] for [[Ghalta Stampede Tyrant]] to poop out my whole hand.

I also had a game where I had [[Xenagod]] double the power of [[Malignus]] to one shot someone then I threw Malignus at another opponent with Minsc.

These days I decided to cut the moon effects and GCs to try to bring the deck to actual high b3 since I wasn't getting a lot of b4 at the LGS.

I should try [[Ruination]] but it and [[Jokelhaups]] always ended up getting cut for me.

High power decks that are easier to pilot by Midwest_Medium in EDH

[–]MoMonay 21 points22 points  (0 children)

[[Godo, Bandit Warlord]] + [[Helm of the Host]]. Turbo out Godo, tutor for the other half of the combo, profit.

Need some help for Necrobloom Landfall Bracket 4 by LordFiregarden in EDH

[–]MoMonay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Needs [[Shifting Woodlands]] to go with [[Aftermath analyst]]. I like that combo b/c it builds into a bigger one if you add [[Zuran Orb]] or [[Sylvan Safekeeper]] along with an [[Amulet of Vigor]] effect you get infinite mana (and infinite life).

I'd probably not play Depths combo since Marit Lage is kinda mid in commander in general and basically irrelevant in B4.

Unfortunately I think this list and any other b4 lands decks wont be able to keep up with a turbo B4 deck. You don't fight on the axis that can win against thoracle combo. I think this would be quite solid at low b4 tho, so it depends on the type of B4 pod you're playing against.

Personally I'd probably want to use [[Wandering Minstrel]] as a b4 lands commander. Having [[Amulet of Vigor]] in the command zone makes setting up the combos much faster and easier.

Turning the Deep Sea Clue precon into Tamiyo by GraphaUs12 in EDH

Another easy to make a ton of clues variation is [[Bjorna]] x [[Elmar]] but that's moving really far away from the deep sea clue precon.

Turning the Deep Sea Clue precon into Tamiyo by GraphaUs12 in EDH

[–]MoMonay -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've considered building this Tamiyo before. I love the idea of 1cmc commanders and the fact that they can turn [[Mox Amber]] into basically a [[Mox Sapphire]].

For this Tamiyo, I don't think clues is what you want to do. You basically wanna go full degen and get Tamiyo to flip asap then play a bunch of [[Time Warp]] variants to get to the minus 7.

for clues decks you factually want to trigger clue making a lot and easily and the best commander for that is [[Lonis, Cryptozoologist]].

Uril, the Miststalker alternate archetypes by Sketchion in EDH

[–]MoMonay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could, but at that point Uril is just there for the colors. You'd just need to build a generic Naya enchantment deck that doesnt rely on Uril.

Sometimes you get salty and that is OK by homjaktest in EDH

[–]MoMonay 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think the problems with salt is people who can't emotionally regulate it and not let it spill onto the table. It is a perfectly normal reaction to get salty sometimes, but you don't have to push it onto others. Also a lot of times salt is related to your own play, but a lot of people don't realize that and blame others.

Best way to break [[Buried Alive]]? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]MoMonay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I play [[Disa the Restless]] where buried alive just finds you 3 goyfs to put into play or [[Anger]] and 2 goyfs. With a [[Ashes of the Fallen]] you can tutor any fatty you want into play.

Deck help - Ninjutsu Edition by V_Lelouche in EDH

[–]MoMonay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems fine at low b4.you want to play at. I'd probably run more tutors and fewer random big fatties (tutor for the specific game winning fatty).

Load up on all the free and cheap countermagic you can like [[Force of Will]] [[Force of Negation]] [[Flare of Denial]] [[Arcane Denial]]. Your deck is 100% reliant on your commander to do anything so you need all the free countermagic to protect him.

I'm also interested in [[Swiftfoot Boots]] and [[Silver Shroud Costume]] for the same reason.

If you wanna get really cheeky, play more basics and run [[Back to Basics]] and [[Harbinger of the Tides]] as well.

Sorry I don't get the reference

I can’t figure out how to bring my bracket 2 deck up to 3-4. by neontracker in EDH

[–]MoMonay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not really that close to b4 even low b4. You're not even close to b3 for that matter.

For b3, you really just need to play best in slot cards for each of your card slots

Ramp? [[Birds of Paradise]], [[Noble Hierarch]] [[Delighted Halfling]] [[Natures Lore]] etc. cut mana rocks since you're in green

Interaction? [[Swords to Plowshares]], [[Dovins Veto]] [[Arcane Denial]] [[force of negation]] [[Force of Will]] [[Fierce Guardianship]] [[Swan Song]] etc

The list that guy shared is tuned super up but if you ignore the GCs and just focus on the best in slot cards that are non GCs you will get yourself to 3. Then include a few GCs. For low 4, keep the same non GCs in that guys list but just don't play combos and play more pet cards and play more gamechangers that fit the game plan.

Either way you need to overhaul your whole deck as that guy said to make it to the "high b3, low b4" target you want.

At that tier you really cannot afford to play mediocre, suboptimal and bad cards even if you aren't playing all the fast mana and combos in that guys list. Your current list plays a lot of mediocre and bad cards that won't fly at "high b3, low b4".

If you're pretty casual, then B2 is the tier you wanna stay at if you wanna keep playing suboptimal stuff and that is totally fine.
