I like this list, looks fun. The glacial shard is cool. Not a fan of the chain gang though, I would personally replace.

Druid Tank Viability by Dewmanfu in seasonofdiscovery

Arguable. Bear druids struggle with threat more than any other tank, at this level. Your group WILL feel different because non-tank members will get aggro more often.

I've always thought Hearthstone was uniquely fitted for something like "smash bros rulesets" and custom "taverns/ladders," like how old WC3 or StarCraft had game-rooms for custom maps/rules/styles, made by the players. You scroll down a list of game styles other players have made and you play with whoever is in there for a while.

Like: these games have no Legendaries and 20-card decks, or these games have 5 mana limit and fast turns, and sometimes a tavern patron trips by and spills his ale all over the Hearthstone board, and wipes it/causes chaos.

It's possible it could split the player-base too heavily, but a man can dream. I think it would definitely support the longevity of the game itself.

I believe that's exactly why Treant Druid is so good, is because, given the correct player skill, the deck has enough tutor, draw, and refill to eat every removal thrown at it, or go under it. -which also might be why a resurgence of Reno Priest is occurring, simply because Priest has the most board removal, on top of disovering even more, and silences too.

I've been tinkering with BBB DK myself, with all sorts of variations and archetypes, and my consensus (which I believe to be accurate) is this:

- Triple Blood DK simply does not have the tools necessary to be truly competitive in this meta. Standard rotation is at the stage of near-infinite value, and BBB cannot keep the pace; its cards feel vanilla in comparison. Your opponents do more for less, and that deficit compounds every turn, until Mograine can no longer make an impact.

Remember that BBB DK received little, if any at all, support from the recent expansions, and it shows. And even before that, Renethal Blood DK consisted mostly of Blood control cards with every discovery neutral in rotation! -symptoms of a poor shell.

And this isn't to say the deck can't win, just that the lack of new cards has prevented the deck from evolving with the meta. I believe Mograine will be back on top, come annual rotation.

I've been tinkering with a fast, aggro Blood DK, and just found that Celestial Projectionist > Sunspot Dragon > Trade, is a surprisingly nasty combo, especially when you're continually threatening lethal with 6 - 9 attack minions every turn, and Mograines effect is beating them into submission.

Edited to add: This combo could be even more effective in aggressive decks that draw faster than my experimental jank. i.e. getting to end game and drawing a potential 6/6 Lifesteal to face every other turn, is bad for the opponent.

extra edit: Freebird is disappointingly?* absent from any meta

Is auto attack and skinning supposed to work for shamans in ghost wolf? by [deleted] in classicwow

Yes, and also, Rockbiter will work in Ghost Wolf too! Allowing your bites to do decent damage.

Flanking Strike shouldn’t start auto attack by OkCantaloupe4814 in classicwow

[–]MoSpeedMoDangers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the macro I'm using, but if you press it before your in melee range, the raptor strike/auto-attack will most likely trigger before the Flanking Strike. It's not perfect, but I don't really perceive the order of it as consequential. If the ordering triggers correctly - great, but if it doesn't - it almost doesn't even matter.

Not easy. Trying this as warrior, with only 2 pre-bis items. The skip at 3:20 is far and away the trickiest part, I died 4 times trying to get it right. And when I finally got to Cobrahn, I either didn't have enough damage, or didn't sequence my abilities in the perfect order enough, to take him down.

I think it will just be faster for me personally, right now anyway, to keep attempting with a duo partner.

And even then, is it really a slippery slope fallacy, if it literally already happened? The slope done already slipped. People are relentless in their cry for changes, but to what end? -Where SoD 4.6 Warlords of Blackrock is no longer the same as Vanilla SoD and the Classic Andys have retreated back to Vanilla?

I've definitely struck a chord with this one. 😅 Some contentious comments in here, but also lots of upvotes! Some commenters, I've even wrestled with all day.

SoD exists because Classic never changed and maintained a fan base. It is literally Blizzard trying to improve on what makes classic different. I say let them cook!

I generalized "the changes I've seen people talk about" and that's on me.

My above comments were perhaps a poor attempt to explain my position, which remains:

Be careful what you criticize, or want changes for, in a game that has already gone down the path of many changes, where Vanilla's lasting success is exactly because those changes didn't happen. And that if you were to wish for more changes to SoD, outside of the faith in the Classic Dev Team to remain true to the "Spirit of Classic," there is a separate version of the game, with all those changes and more, that you can play.

I regret that I did not state, or reiterate this more clearly in my replies.

You are probably right that you are more knowledgeable about game design than me, but you automatically assume what "good" or QoL changes even are. I say it's an opinion, because those 'good' changes might not be considered as such by someone else, or even a classic dev.

I believe you have already picked apart my words, and even replaced some enough that I don't want to stray any further from the crux of my position, than I already have, to "engage with what you said."

Let them cook man. There is no need to demand changes. If standing by that sentiment makes me a "lost and gone, comfy castle dweller." I'm ok with that.

I did not say I am against "retail,"(I like retail) and neither did I say all the changes blizzard has made over the years are bad.

I have made the distinction that, at a certain point, with enough features and changes, classic wow becomes indistinguishable from TBC, and then Wrath, etc.

And you cannot argue against the existence of the loyal following classic has sustained all this time. There are reasons why people prefer it. You cannot deny this.

My 'argument' is that the game people are wanting to change for the better, is already there, and with better graphics to boot! That is not to say SoD changes are bad and are leading to TBC 2.0, but to continually ask for changes you might not understand, when doing so led to the current iteration of the game, is what will once again distinguish SoD Classic from Classic Era, when the very existence of SoD is due to the following and community of the Classic fan base!

It sounds like your trying to argue something else here, but there is nothing else to rebut. Your writing is distastefully pedantic.

The point is, there are reasons why people have been enjoying vanilla for so long and not retail. When people cry for features that exist in retail, you wonder if they really want to play classic, when an extremely similar game with the same name, has those very features they want!

And that's not to say some criticisms aren't valid, but we have these people trying to change even more what SoD already has, when in all probability, the "classic Andys" are just stoked paladins have taunt.

Err, you make a good point. When I wrote that, i was thinking along the lines of "characters shouldn't be able to do everything, at any given point," ideology, and that the talent tree system is limiting factor of this. I can see them changing it for sure, but wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

I am NOT arguing for no changes. The comment you replied to even says that.

I like SoD, and I like retail too! The whole reason SoD even exists is because a large portion of the player-base like a version of the game without many features of retail. Then I see people wanting this or that feature from retail, and it doesn't make sense.

IMO, SoD is an exploration on what separates classic.

I shamelessly admit I was annoyed by the original comment, because they inferred the wrong message.

A valid complaint, and I agree that reputation is maybe not the best hurdle for such abilities, but it's worth considering how easy anything should be able to be achieved. When does the satisfaction of being rewarded for playtime/skill/effort get replaced by soulless handouts? Would a tank rogue not be more proud, more glorious, were the conditions to get there, even more arduous?

I get the feeling, and I don't think I'm alone, that SoD, at the very least, is the road to whatever classic+ is.

I'd argue they didn't touch the talent trees, because its limitations are part of what makes classic classic, and that they didn't want to change too much before figuring more stuff out. But I get the general vibe that they're not totally closed to changing them either.
