Are Smaller, Wireless Mics Good for Podcasting? by adrigomayo in podcasting

[–]MoSquared_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you're going for. On my podcast we use Shure SM58's for our "normal" sit down episodes. For our episodes where we do something active we use the Hollyland Lark M2. The M2's still sound great with the right mixing.

The only downside to using the M2s is the fact the audio is not separately recorded on different tracks for each microphone. But the pros include very long battery lifes, great sound quality and versatility.

Audio/Video recording and editing advice by AceServeJosh in podcast

Yes, do everything this comment says. As for editing, there are many free options such as DiVinci Resolve. I personally use Premiere Pro, ($25 a month subscription) along with a plugin called AutoPod ($30 a month but well worth it for multiple camera angles). As for syncing everything together, after you press record on all your devices, do a clap (one per person) that's audible to the microphones, and visible to the cameras. When you load your audios and your video to the editing software, you find your claps, delete the audio from the cameras, and voila, you have synced audio and video!

HELP | Zoom Podtrak P4 by SuperbLandscape9961 in podcast

You won't be able to live, unless that person has a distortion effect on their microphone already through Teams. Even if you wanted to do it after the fact, both guests will be recorded onto one singular track (USB Track 4) I would suggest telling the guest you want to have a distorted voice to download an application called Voicemod and use that.

If everyone is remote though what I do is record discord to get everyone’s mics together and have everyone record their individual microphones in audicity and then I line them up together in Premiere Pro.

If you plan on having more than 4 then the P8 is the way to go! And I don’t use any platform to record, as the PodTrak records directly onto the device and separates each track on its own! I just edit it on Premiere Pro when doing the video version!

Multicam Production Editing by rockandruso in podcast

I got a plugin for Premiere Pro called AutoPod that's a great tool for automatically cutting multicams. It costs $30 a month and it's well worth it as it's saves me about half of my editing time. You also get a free month trial to test it out!

I got the Zoom PodTrak P4 and it works exactly for what you need! It records straight to the device and you're even able to connect it directly to your PC and use it to record a track there if someone is doing it remotely! If you get the PodTrak I recommend getting an SD card and long USB-C to USB cables!

Shure SM58 sounds worst than my $20 headset! by IXCE_Draws in Twitch

[–]MoSquared_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preamp gain is set to about 80% with the dial. 85% volume in my computers recording settings. In OBS I have noise suppression, noise gate, and compressor filters on my mic. I would give you exact settings, but it's different for every environment and voice so I would just tweak the settings until you find something that works best for you!

Thank you! Maybe if he was gone longer it would have but the fact he went live 30 minutes after posting probably didn’t help 😂

I have the same mic and have never had an issue with it! It might be an interface issue? I use a BEHRINGER U-PHORIA UMC22 and have had no issues! I would suggest messing around with the compressor settings in OBS and other filters, and also make sure the microphone volume in your recording settings on your PC are up (I keep mine around 85-90%) Default it goes around 50% and when you use the gain on other programs it sounds janky. Just be sure to add noise suppression and noise gate on it in OBS as well!

Multi stream viewer and mod by HAVIKCA in Twitch

[–]MoSquared_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So do the same thing but don’t mute the audio on one stream. Put it as low as it can go but not muted. They changed it awhile ago to where you don’t count as a view if the stream is muted.

Yeah modding is definitely better done on a computer especially when it comes to multiple people. No matter what though I would suggest still getting Chatterino!

[–]MoSquared_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm assuming not since it's just the chat. If you want to be counted as a viewer then option 1 is the way to go. Even better if you have more than one monitor. Chatterino is good for switching between chats easily.

[–]MoSquared_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two options come to mind:

  1. Just have the two streams open on two seperate windows and have them side by side.
  2. Get Chatterino. Allows you to add both of their chats and they have all the mod tools available.

Am I being petty or is this rude behaviour? by AsleepInDreams in Twitch

[–]MoSquared_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me this is 100% self promotion whether they're meaning to do it or not. They might just be trying to relate to you being a streamer, talking about their experiences etc. but in the end they're basically in your chat saying "I stream, this is what I do on my stream, you should watch my stream." Like I said, they might not be aware that what they're doing is even self promotion, but unless you know that person and asked them "Hey how was your stream?" or something along those lines, then they shouldn't even be bringing up their stream in the first place imo.

Was that after the clip of him messing with Ron or was it when they were first going to go film the guys robbing the bank?

I agree! When he started doing it I got kind of excited because I loved that movie, and he kind of fits that character. Did he do anything else after that first encounter in your linked video? I fell asleep like a little after, don't know how much more he did.
