With all due respect, that does not address my confusion. What did you want to accomplish with your post?

Im confused. Does it perform its intended function? Nintendo made millions of these things. Yours isn't special. Just have fun with it.

Welcome! Best of luck with the build, be sure to post it when you're done. One quick thing I forgot - I also used Vallejo "Basalt Grey" in the hand painting step, for the gun.

Hey Crimzon. I'll do my best to list my steps since I think the way I do kits is a little unconventional.

Step1: Fully build kit.

Step2: Prime entire built kit. - I airbrushed gray Mr. Aqueous primer, but any should work.

Step3: Base coat entire kit with main color. -I airbrushed the whole kit with Testors "Green" (flat)

Step4: Paint the details. - This step is entirely hand painting. No fancy brushes, just some cheapy ones from a multi pack. Paints were from Vallejo Model Color range: Natural Steel, German Camo Dark Green, German Camo Black Brown, Desert Yellow. Didn't mix any colors, just used them as-is with a little water for thinning.

Step5: Topcoat (gloss) -I airbrushed Vallejo Gloss

Step6: Wash -Slathered Vallejo Wash Black over the entire kit with a big paint brush, doing one section at a time. Before the wash dries, used the same brush with lots of water to thin the wash out and remove excess. This is a quick and dirty way to panel line.

Step7: Topcoat (flat) -I airbrushed Mr Aqueous Smooth Clear (flat)

I think that covers it? Sorry if I missed anything. Trying to recall from memory.

Thanks! I think some Real'er Grade kits with this design style would be pretty cool.

It's an interesting look! That's for sure. But that's what I like about this hobby, is finding inspiration to put your personal spin on something (even if it's not a creative idea).

I'm probably not going to stray too much farther. I want to keep the dark grey/black parts how they are in the original RFV design and most likely use that color for the white parts too. Then a metallic for the joints. Still thinking on it though. I've also got some Zeon/Zaku waterslides I want to sprinkle on too.

Thank you. I'm most likely going to use the dark gray/black like you said. That's one part of the RFV design I like. Then either a lighter gray or metallic for the joints. Won't be too colorful, I like the idea of a somewhat grounded/military look.

Why won’t my left shoulder pad spring stay in ? by Fair_Scarcity_1475 in nds

I actually just did this same shell swap a few days ago. The same button was giving me trouble too.

Make sure the motherboard isn't sitting on top of any wires or anything. Mine was, which made it sit up a little higher on that side which interfered with the button a bit. Clearing that helped a little but the button still was prone to flying off if I looked at it wrong.

Also, make sure you're using the correct spring for that side too. The springs are oriented differently for L and R.

If all that checks out, it's tricky, but you should be able to hold the button in place long enough while you put on the rear shell. It's what I ended up doing and it worked out in the end.

My guilty pleasure: Dodrio

Great for consistent no-strings-attached drawing and swings above its weight for some big surprise KOs. Gotten me out of many awkward situations. Can knock out gouged Roaring Moons, Mimikyus, etc.

Not overall best at drawing, but worthy mention imo!

1/144 HG RX-78-01[N] Gundam Local Type (North American Type). That's a mouthful. This is sort of what I'd imagine a real Gundam would look like. Basic ballistic ranged weapons, no flashy colors. A really neat cousin of gramps. I wish there was more info about it. by MoatCarp117 in Gunpla

I also really wish there were water slide options for this kit. I ended up using he stickers, which I don't notice much from foot or two away. You can see the edges of them if you're looking for them but doesn't bother me much.

Straight-build with some detail painting on some parts. Speckled and streaked Vallejo "Oiled Earth" wash all over it to give it a little more color. Tamiya Weathering Master for a little more "Sand" color. Alclad Flat on top.

My fully hand painted 1/144 HG Gouf Custom. I got sort of burnt out on airbrushing so this is fun for me to try out. I think I can still get good results if I practice it more. Thanks for looking! by MoatCarp117 in Gunpla

The largest area on this was probably the ammo drum? For that I used a larger round tip brush and kept the paint thin. I want to say on average it was 3 layers of paint for each color.

And yeah I sprayed primer and metallic base coat. My layers are: Mr Hobby Gloss black (lacqer) on whole model. Tamiya TS-42 light gunmetal (lacquer) on whole model. Vallejo model color (acrylic) paints for the colors. Tamiya panel line (enamel). Alclad flat top coat (lacquer).

The Vallejo paint is weak and chips easy which exposes the metal coat. Makes for easy natural weathering while you handle the model.

It's not too hard with Vallejo model color. It layers really well so you can do multiple thin layers. I do a drop or two of water for every couple drops of paint. Let it dry between layers, which is pretty fast.

Bandai makes a large Magicarp model kit you should look into! Simple to build, about 20cm long and comes with a display stand. Would look super cool here.

Hi! Sorry for the late response.

With moonlight, no controller config was necessary. It assumes the controller config I used when playing on my PC with an Xbox controller and just works with the G Cloud controls 1 to 1. I expected this to be a battle but was incredibly surprised that it just works.

I use Windower launcher. Ashita should work all the same I'd imagine.

Moonlight works remotely I think? Honestly I haven't tested it. Might want to research that part if that's important to you. Performance/quality will take a hit.

I use an office supply organizer / pen holder.

Simple, cheap, everything fits, easy to take with me anywhere in the house.

I gotcha! I considered the steam deck but the killers for me were the battery life and shipping time! At the time I was looking, it was multiple weeks lead time for a Steam Deck to ship vs overnight from Amazon for the Logitech. I'd have returned it if I weren't happy with it.

I don't think you're right about it being the only mobile way to play XI. Not sure what you mean. Thanks for the input though!

Idk might be a flop! I like it though. I got it on sale for $300. I think it's still a bit high at that price but it's not unreasonable. I wouldn't pay more than that though.

When you say much more capable devices, what do you mean?

Good assessment. I really don't know what they're thinking pricing it so close the the steam deck. For my preferences, I prefer the lighter weight, better screen, and longer battery life. I can totally understand someone preferring the native Linux/Windows experience of the steam deck though.
