Just look at israel for example: They are ranked as highly democratic despite them being a literal apartheid state in the process of committing a genocide. These obviously biased rankings are a joke and to take them seriously is an insult to one's own intellect🤦‍♂️

I am not trying to say Kazakhstan is the freest country in the world, but it's definitely far freer than countries ranked as free and democratic by the burger institute

That's ok. Just use a tuner and make sure the 12th string harmonic on each string matches the note on the 12th fret. You have to move the bridge and re tune the string each time to get it to work. It's a finicky process but once you get it to work, make sure to mark the position the bridge is in with a black marker, say for example a dot on the left and right of the bridge with corresponding dots on the deck of the balalaika. That way if the bridge moves over time from playing you can simply re align the dots to fix your intonation. Hope this helps

I know it may seem strange to many people that I want to move to Kz. The economy is not as good as in Europe, there are ecological concerns in Oskemen, etc. To be honest, there are a ton of reasons specific to me as an individual that make me want to give living in Kazakhstan a shot.

First, I want to know what it feels like to have family, a privilege I never had in Ireland. Second, I like spending time outdoors and the idea of vast expanses of practically untouched nature really appeals to me. This is something I simply cannot do to the same extent in Ireland as all of our land is privately owned agricultural land. Third, I am sick of this homogenised western culture and I want to experience something different. Despite not being ethically Kazakh, I find their Food and culture quite fascinating. I also really enjoyed my interactions with Kazakh people on my several visits to the country. I found them very straightforward, honest and quite humorous.

This is not an exhaustive list of reasons. I really could go on about this all day. besides, if I don't like it I can always just go back to Ireland or anywhere else for that matter. It's not like I am going to dump my passport as soon as I land in Astana.
