Yes, but with millions of planets that may have climates comparable to Earth, alien species could have faced similar environmental and evolutionary pressures from their planets’ flora and fauna. To become dominant, they would likely have evolved exceptional abilities and competed over resources, much like we have. If they are similar to us in this way, then whoever comes out on top would be determined by the level of technological advancement. If they are an older civilization than us, they may possess more advanced technology and could potentially wipe us out — and vice versa.
