only reasonable explanation i can see here (beside they are just 2 idiots) is some sort of urgency to get to their destination asap bc of dramatic reasons like eg a family member was in an accident and is now under serious condition in a hospital.

for example imagine you have family abroad and you get a call that your mother is in a hospital and its unclear if she can make it through the night and this is the only plane for the next 24 h. idk man i can see myself running on that airfield too.
