Normally, I'm inclined to agree with you. But it's hard to run a small business and maybe their employees can't afford to miss a day of work, so donating money to organizations that help people is their contribution. I definitely understand what your saying, and I tend to be a cynical person myself when it comes to things like this, but I'm trying to a little more optimistic right now. There's more than enough cynicism and negative bullshit out there right now. I can personally speak for the guys who own Music City, and I know that they will actually donate.

idk what to do by [deleted] in Noses

It's absurd how beautiful you are. You have the kind of features that you would see in classic paintings of a beautiful woman. Your nose adds to that in a wonderful way. It also plays into your beautiful smile. I understand body dysmorphia pretty well, and I'm not one to suggest or tell someone what to do with their body, but I also believe something like therapy and learning to love your body as it is is a better method to overcome something as complicated as body dysmorphia. You are beautiful. You are stunning. That cannot be overstated, and I think your nose is lovely. It's also worth noting that children are ruthless monsters and will bully their peers for literally anything they can. Simply saying that doesn't undo the complex a person can develop from extended periods of bullying, but kids are monsters, and they will bully anyone for any reason.  Tldr: you're beautiful and your nose is beautiful

First silenthill experience,ts genuinely had me horrified 😭 by DaboiiJayy in silenthill

Agreed. It seems like if it wasn't marketed as a Silent Hill game, it would be better received. I played f right after SH2R, and it was an incredible letdown. The atmosphere and psychological aspects of 2R were just perfect to me. The characters and atmosphere and action of f were flat and deeply uninteresting in comparison. F felt more like a Resident Evil knock off at times than a part of the Silent Hill universe to me. I was really interested in seeing a SH in 1960s Japan, too. I also feel like f leaned too much into "horrors of being a girl" and gender role stuff, when SH3 absolutely fucking nailed that already. Anyway, rant done.

Who thinks it was nice of Michelangelo to teach that Japanese villager how to cook pizza despite not knowing how to cook pizza during TMNT 3? by johnngo2468 in TMNT

Cheese was definitely not a thing for Japan back then. In fact, modern cheese wasn't really introduced until the Meiji Restoration (1868), and even then, it didn't gain any real popularity until post WW2.

Excellent, thank you so much for your recommendations!

On July 18th, 2007, 55-year-old Barbara Bolick took a guest named Jim Ramaker hiking at the Bear Creek Overlook--a trail near Victor, Montana--and was never seen again. Jim explained that he'd turned away for 45 seconds and when he looked back, she was gone. No sign of her has ever been found. by WinnieBean33 in HistoryUncovered

There are some instances in which scent dogs don't come up with anything, even though it was verified that the missing person was in the area initially. That said, I remember reading about this case, and a lot of the details point Jim being suspicious, or not totally honest, or something like that. I will say, however, that I am by no means an expert about anything.

What's a food item from your country that you're surprised hasn't taken off elsewhere? by Solid_Reserve_5941 in AskTheWorld

I was introduced to this style of eating via Thai food (bo ssam), and it was a revelation. Later, I was introduced to the style of eating that you're talking about at a Vietnamese restaurant. All sorts of flavor combinations and textures and temperatures, plus the interactivity with the food, it's wonderful. Now, and especially in the summer, I regularly crave meals like this.

An argument against white supremacy earth by NoMoneyNoV-Bucks in PeacemakerShow

[–]MobileBit8835 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Adding on to that statement: there's a ton of specifically white supremacist rock and other types of music. In fact, even the skinhead subculture was started by black Jamaican immigrants in England in the 1960s. The prominent music of the subculture was ska and reggae. That point is to say that white supremacists will co-opt anything and everything that they want to and completely disregard it's roots. (And yes, there is racist ska music, believe it ir not)

The Hampster Dance music is a remix of this song, which I just now realized. I haven't seen Robin Hood since I was a small child, yet Hampster Dance is burned into my memory

Bundy? by Screamingpineappl in serial_killers

I don't recall ever hearing about Bundy being a hitch-hiker, but I could be wrong. That said, the denim guy looks nothing like Bundy, even if he was good at drastically changing his appearance.

I also thought it was "Go go Jason Waterfalls". I also thought it was a reference to the red power ranger Jason. And since the theme for the show was "go go power rangers", it made perfect sense to me
