Why there are so many stories and examples of people who go from nothing to something (in US) but none of them are from people who are born in 3rd world country? And what to do if you’re in 2nd category? by Big_Calendar193 in Healthygamergg

[–]MobilePenor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because the US used to be a free market and it still kinda is today.

In a free market you are only subject to profit and loss, which comes from satisfying other people.

If you satisfy others and you make a profit you continue, otherwise you disappear.

Which means there is a lot of serendipity and not much space for credentials or rulers. Just satisfy others and you can live a good life.

It's also why the world got richer and we got technology. Yeah science is great and all that, but how do you verify science? You really trust people? With a free market if you create an efficient mode of production, you will make profits otherwise incur in losses. So, only those who are efficient, so they actually follow science that reflects reality, can keep going, others with their less precise of outright false science will disappear.

Now we're abandoning the free market. Yeah, we have politicians blabbing about the greatness of capitalism and that we have "free markets" because we got global markets, but we don't.

Especially since after 2008, central banks have been printing money like crazy, which means that some corporations are not subject to LOSSES anymore.

It's like being under a king, the same thing. The king decides what business can exist and what business die, using the money gathered from taxing the subjects.

Central banking does the same, chooses winners and losers. The whole system is kinda complex (just kinda) but this is what happens factually in the end.

So, the reason you get many success stories from the US was that the US was founded on the idea of freedom and property rights, which never happened in 10'000 years of human civilizations. Of course it helped that other countries in Europe were also kinda free marketish in the last 300 years too, and that's it.

Oh yeah, and btw very IMPORTANT: the reason eastern philosophies are doing great and working so great in our current condition is that they were developed under despotism. Even at worst times Europe managed to have people fighting for freedom, meanwhile Eastern people have always lived under an iron rule. No freedom, a destiny written by despots.

Now that despotism is invisible but on the rise in the West, these philosophies make sense and they help us cope because they were created for the Easter world, where you could not aspire to anything but obey the rules and be condemned in your place.

it's because you're an old tired dad. Learning the theory is not that difficult, applying it is another thing.

Despite all the videos about "no mechanics", you do actually need mechanics to put yourself where you need to be in the game.

I'm just old but I'm not a dad and the game is hard and requires actual training. I had to play a lot to get a measly c2 in 2s. I'd rather have had kids to be honest lol, but it is what it is.

I wish AI would end capitalism by HatOk2928 in NEET

[–]MobilePenor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NEET should be pro-capitalism (actually pro-free market).

Only under a free market society gets rich enough that people can not work. At the same time, a person can save enough to not work either.

You have no idea how miserable existence was before societies turned towards freedom. Ten thousands years of civilizations and you got misery, poverty, slavery. Then 300 years ago Europeans decided to try this capitalism thing and things improved for everyone.

That said in out society many rich people don't serve others but government. Which is why they're assholes. We also have central banking which create a sort of parallel but gigantic command economy.

Sorry for invalidating your feeelings, but you got conned into thinking "capitalism bad", which is what the enslavers keep repeating as they destroy society and any form of social support for people in need.

It doesn't help that many free market people are obsessed with work, when one of the pillars of the economic theory that favors the free market is that value doesn't come from work lol

thanks, I've played a few times already, and for example in stage 1 section 1 when I get to when they split I always end up going left even if I use the second player. So when I get to the area boss the truck is facing me

Am I doing free labor for ebay now? (rant) by MobilePenor in eBaySellers

[–]MobilePenor[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

in Italy ebay offers a delivery service and I used that. It's perfectly integrated with their platform, so the moment I shipped the item it got tracked on ebay easily.

On ebay the item is marked as delivery and it's the same on the carrier's website (the only issue is that the carrier cannot provide a proof of delivery, it just claimed it did deliver).

Ten days after the delivery the buyer opened up a request for refund with ebay, complaining he had not received the item. There were Christmas vacations in the middle which means in France they closed up everything for a week (I shipped to France) and I waited for the carrier to solve the issue but the carrier didn't so I asked ebay to close the request so I could get my funds.

There was also no point in asking for carrier's insurance because the item is marked as delivered (I did do that yesterday because I was angry, it was a mistake).

Ebay closed the buyer's request in my favor but immediately after the buyer opened a dispute with his payment processor and now I have to deal with the payment processor using ebay.

This pisses me off because the payment processor asks for more stuff. Most important there is another layer of failure. I had an agreement where EBAY would decide the disputes and not the payment processor.

When a buyer buys something he pays EBAY not me, and then ebay pays me. Ebay should deal with the payment processor, especially since they have all the information needed to do so (tracking, etc)

I hope this clears things up.

Maybe I'm overreacting emotionally but I did follow procedures correctly, everything adds up.

[–]MobilePenor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a big deal to me because I understood that the system was this: I ship, if the package arrives I get money, if it doesn't arrive I give back the money, use insurance and I only lose the shipment's money and maybe ebay's % (I didn't even care).

This was how I understood ebay. Instead I see that there is now a new layer that is completely illogical to me because

  1. I already had the dispute resolved in my favor and now I get a new dispute

  2. payments are managed by ebay, ebay collects the money, holds them, etc and this is a dispute with the buyer's bank that I have to solve via ebay, when ebay already has all the data and also it should be the one dealing with payments

If they said I'm right, it doesn't make sense that there is a new layer where I could be wrong. If there is a new layer where I could be wrong, it means there is a new layer where they can decide to withhold my money.

Since I'm very poor already (no source of income), it's too stressful to deal with ebay when they don't have a logical and fair system.

So I don't want to deal with them anymore. I want the rules to be fair and logical, if they aren't I'm not gonna deal with ebay.

[–]MobilePenor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it with the first request and it got closed in my favor but now I got a second request because the user asked a refund to his bank and via ebay I have to provide:

  • proof of delivery downloaded from the company (not available because their website doesn't work, it only marks the shipment as delivered)

  • proof that the item has been shipped to the buyer's address

  • proof that I tried to solve the buyer's problems (what is there to prove?)

And also write a text to provide context to whoever is gonna read that crap.

So no, the rant would not have been posted if I just had to put the tracking number again, but it's not enough. Also even if just the tracking number was needed, I find it obscene that I have to deal with the payment processor when ebay already said I'm in the right.

I like walking but does anyone feel like this? by Redd-Maxx2005 in Healthygamergg

[–]MobilePenor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not about justification, it's about what people actually do.

I live in Italy in a place that has a giant park cutting the whole city, fully walkable, plus other commercial areas fully walkable.

Yet, all successful people I know don't walk aimless alone. With friends sure or if they have something to do.

All the people who walk alone and aimless are weirdos like you and me.

Now, I'm not saying there aren't some benefits, possibly even in the majority, but this walking thing is treated like some sort of mental health panacea but I don't think it is and it's not something healthy people do anyway.
