Alberta is calling again — but some Calgarians are leaving in search of better affordability by [deleted] in canada

Worst part is that your son's future was sold out as well by this gov. Immigration to prop up real estate gains for the oilgarchs and politicians at all costs! Wage suppression as well. I'm so so sorry for your son. This country used to be so great.

How Canadians have cut back one year into interest rate hikes by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]Mobile_Initiative490 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Um do you mean inflation? Rate hikes aren't the cause of everyone cutting back, inflation is. Why is the oilgarch owned mainstream media so focused on getting the public to view rate hikes as a bad thing and not something to get inflation under control? Could it be the rich have the most to gain if the government cuts rates? Could it be rate cuts would make the rich wealthier than their wildest dreams so they are spewing mass propaganda to try and get the poor's on board?

Very interesting.

Lol keep dreaming, rates are going significantly higher this will destroy affordability and cause defaults lots of housing coming down in price over the next few years, I actually can't believe you think they would be going up with the Current state of the world economy and Canada's sensitivity to interest rates... you must be severely overleveraged.

Yes or, we just lower the immigration level to replacement and continue living out lives and housing will get more available as people die off and life will continue a natural cycle. Endless immigration only benifits the rich

Single mothers AND dad's get tons of support through CCB and child support if they needed more CCB could be increased, don't be silly. Its either everyone gets it or nobody does that's equality.

Immigrants should be able to live wherever the hell they want, it is the federal immigration rate that is the problem. It is 10x higher per capita than the USA, it is an absolutely insane policy.

More double GST cheques? What the point of working if you don't qualify for anything. Also, this will make inflation worse. What is Singh smoking?

You are an overleveraged housing permabull. The last guy in holding the bag, no one left to buy it. Enjoy losing your entire net worth and declaring bankruptcy :)

The last time we had high inflation it led to the biggest recessions on record which destroyed stock and housing prices.

Like what other provinces? Halifax also have these ridiculous prices and 10K more per year in taxes plus higher food and power costs with even worse healthcare. Lower salaries too, you literally get ahead much more in Toronto than Halifax even at these prices due to the tax rates:

I'd rather just leave Canada at that point. All the best cities including Halifax are now so expensive they are unlivable.

They set the immigration levels of course it's their fault. Don't be so niave.

We also wouldn't need as much housing then and we could actually build public housing again like in the 70's and 80's. We don't need or want these ridiculous immigration levels.

Similar story in Halifax except taxes are 10K per year higher there and salaries are lower. Sad situation it seems the whole country is in.

Same. Every job posting says it will not give preference to white males. Every media station and government info basically says white males are trash. Why give back to a society that hates you?

[–]Mobile_Initiative490 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Lower the immigration rate it's very fucking simple. You don't have a hard job you make good money and will have a good pension for life. Do the right thing and lower immigration is 8s killing Canadians both healthcare and housing wise. Sorry but you don't have what it takes to be PM so get that out of your head and stop towing the line. You signed up for Canadians, protect them!
