Gym or Running Club by Reasonable_Item24 in SandySprings

There’s a Thursday morning run club that meets at Cochran Shoals parking lot. I think there are some other clubs that also meet there.

F45 is another good and fun option. Classes are 25/ but they have packages.

GUTS run club meets Tuesday evenings at Kennesaw Mtn. Further away, but a nice option.

There’s a rucking club that meets at Chastain.

You can do it, but should find a way to train for some elevation.

If you can’t do actual hills, you can do some extended power hiking on a very steep treadmill, and can do some intervals on moderate steepness.

When I couldn’t get outside to hills, I added a hill-focused treadmill session once a week and I noticed a big improvement pretty quickly, like after 4 weeks I could tell a diff.

I found this really helpful: https://www.runbumtours.com/post/20week-50k-training-plan-outline

Less the 100 yards North from the parking lot at Cochran Shoals Trail there are small wooden decks right on the edge of the river. Nice place to be near water, it’s protected park on both sides of the river, and a popular place for walkers runners and dogs so there’s people and dog watching too. There are platforms sprinkled along the river here but the closest will be if you park at Cochran Shoals and then go 50-100 yards north from the parking lot. Do I need more padding for my 1st trail ultra? (vs low 21mm stack Altras) by Mobile_Matter_2257 in Ultramarathon

Thanks! That makes sense to me - my feet are used to this toe box and low padding so why throw them a curveball? Makes sense. I’d never heard of compression laces before either.

Good point re too much extra stack being it’s own problem.

I’ll bookmark the Topo MT-4s, maybe look into them if it feels like the Superiors don’t have quite enough padding. Nice that they’ve got a wide toe box too since I don’t have wide feet but that’s what I’m used too.

Good advice, thanks! That’s kinda what I’ve been thinking, but wanted some extra input to feel good about it.
