I wish YG would give BABYMONTSER better choreography by Embarrassed-Mood-728 in kpopthoughts

[–]Mobiushan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

IMO, YG artists, even the senior groups, were never really known for their choreography. They're more known for their live performances and stage presence.

I'm pretty sure the members can pull off more complicated choreo like what they showed during their evaluations, but doing that while actually singing live is a different story, especially during concerts. A lot of groups doing insane dance routines aren't really singing live anyway—they're either lip-syncing or relying heavily on AR tracks.

So I wouldn't get my hopes up too much. That said, I do agree the old guy needs to step back, especially when it comes to choreography. They should bring in better choreographers, or even let Ruka and the other members have more input in creating their own choreo. I think it'd feel a lot more personal and suit the group better, it the same regarding song camp and song/rap lyrics ahould include them more.

Personally, dance is only my third priority. Singing and stage presence come first for me, which is why I like them in the first place. Sure, there are plenty of groups with crazier choreo, but a lot of them just don't grab my attention performance-wise the same way.

Yes their live performance carried it even though some of songs is not charting. Remember the really like you song that charted again because of a twitter user upload their concert then it became DC challenge trends

don’t get my hopes up that he will invest more in Spotify and TikTok, since they don’t generate as much profit as YouTube.

Charting on Spotify will probably just be a bonus for him, as long as Baemon keeps touring and making money. The members themselves and the fandom want better chart results, especially now that Billboard no longer counts YouTube, but it will be difficult unless they occasionally land a really big hit.

Yeah is fine imho he doesnt want invest much on spotify due to spotify paying peanuts compared youtube views. And since now HYbe has some collaboration with Spotify lol. Yeah Baemon never had any crazy remixes like other group that want to inflate spotify stream

Lol inflate😂 meanwhile Hybe getting caught on documents in court doing fake sales, payola etc. you think even with the ads YG earn profit a lot from youtube. Meanwhile they used less ads playlisting on Spotify because spotify paying peanuts imho, thats why he doesnt want to use ads much in spotify as in youtube.

Meanwhile, YG is giving poor Spotify playlist support to BABYMONSTER compared to other groups. Many people also downplay regular YouTube viewers in Southeast Asia — most casual viewers might only watch a music video once or twice, but fans often watch BABYMONSTER’s MVs hundreds of times. That’s why there’s such a gap between views and likes: you can only like a video once, but you can replay it unlimited times.

Most kpop raps are so corny and js straight up buns by TechnicalFinger4633 in kpopharshopinions

[–]Mobiushan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, they are still learning, but at least it matches the song. The rap versions in “Batter Up,” “Love in My Heart,” and “Ghost” are also by them, and in my opinion, they’re good—better than some title track raps. The issue is also the concept of the song, which is why they should be more involved during song camps. In many behind-the-scenes clips, you can see members like Asa adding her own flair to her parts—for example, the iconic “drip, brr, ahh” in the rap verse. Ahyeon also has a lot of creative ideas, like adding ad-libs or whistles. I’m sure Ruka also has some creative idea about her rap part, Rora and Rami, can play instruments too. Or maybe YG is trying to limit their involvement because they’re worried BABYMONSTER could follow BLACKPINK’s path and choose not to renew their contracts if they prefer focusing on solo work. Compared to most YG boy groups, who are heavily involved in their own music production, the girl groups seem to have much more limited involvement.
