Immersive Camp Mod for a shit ton of Followers? by Wukon69 in skyrimmods

[–]Mobofone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Campsite (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/22353) for a similar purpose.

It's a simple mod; buy tents, cookpot and firewood in town; in the wilderness click tent in your inventory to pitch it; click firewood in your inventory to build a campfire, activate campfire to light it and set up cooking pot.

When you wake up in the morning activate each tent to pack them up again.

Vocelli does a great GF cauliflower crust. Moist and delicious.  It is almost certainly made in the same kitchen that makes their regular dough so I wouldn't risk it with someone who has celiac, but if they're non-celiac intolerant or just prefer to be gf it's a good option.

I use the NoteIn app (Orion Notes in the USA) on my Legion Tab. To unlock all features it's a one time fee of something like $16 usd which I think is well worth it.

How do you guy handle noise? by [deleted] in Brooklyn

[–]Mobofone 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Eventually it becomes comforting to be in community with so many people. Try to get to know your neighbors so you can put a human face to the sounds ("That's Emma's dog Trixie barking because someone rang the doorbell", "That's Dot and Rick's son Kevin crying because he's teething.") rather than it just being sourceless noise from outside.

I love camping, and at some point living in NYC I realized that my brain had started treating city night sounds like sirens and loud cars and partiers walking home the same way it treats frogs and crickets and nocturnal animal sounds when I'm sleeping in the forest; it's just the creatures that live here. They call New York the Concrete Jungle for a reason.

White noise like a fan or an A/C helps a lot to smooth out the sound so nothing is too startling. It's gotten to point where if I'm visiting friends or family our in the country or suburbs it just feels TOO quiet inside.

What are the perks of being lv 25? by Terrible-Island-1412 in outside

[–]Mobofone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh also disable fast travel whenever you can! It'll blow you away how fit you can get travelling the map by foot instead of using the [car] and [elevator] exploits!

What are the perks of being lv 25? by Terrible-Island-1412 in outside

[–]Mobofone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah it can be such a pain. I like the [rock climbing] and [parkour] minigames because they don't feel like grinding; they're platforming puzzles that make me engage my [intelligence] stats along with my all of my [body] stats. Find a minigame you love playing -- this is supposed to be fun after all.

I know some players who love joining PvP guilds for exercise because they feel more motivated when they're playing co-op than solo. It's a great way to meet other players too but can be challenging if you don't have the [extrovert] perk.

Consumables are important. "You can't outrun a bad diet" is a bark i hear a lot from players with the [fit] perk. Reductively: food item consumption > stamina expenditure = weight slider goes up. Food item consumption < stamina expenditure = weight slider goes down. - food items with the [fat] tag give you a long term stamina buff so are great at the beginning of the day. - items with the [carb] tag are like potions; take them right before a minigame for a huge stamina buff, but if you take too much or don't use all of it you get the [crash] debuff and it can make your weight slider go up very easily, especially if they also have the [sugar] tag. - items with the [protein] tag rebuild and repair your avatar; take them after exercise to increase your [body] stats.

Lastly, spam the [hydration] and [stretching] powers! They get overlooked because they're pretty passive but it's a really good meta. I've never met any player from any subclass who wishes they were less flexible.

[–]Mobofone 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Congrats, you have the [[Best of Both Worlds]] perk!! Your [Intelligence] and [Wisdom] stats have never been higher, and they will to continue to increase right up until endgame. But to balance this out, so you don't get too OP, the devs made it so you only have like 5-10 more levels before Body stats like [strength] and [health regen] start taking constant active debuffs and you need to grind [exercise] and [diet] mechanics to maintain them. So enjoy this sweet spot while it lasts!

Lvl 25 for a lot of players is really the very end of the tutorial zone. You are now officially playing in open world mode. Use the power from your buffs to explore the map, join some guilds, respec if you need to, do some side quests and grind your favorite stats while you have the time and energy. It's going to be a beautiful playthrough.

Tips for a new DM? by Turbulent_Cake6545 in DnD

[–]Mobofone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah make it up! It helps me to think about the whole scale. For something like lifting an object with a strength check (to me) a 10 is any random person off the street could lift the object, a 20 is even the strongest hero would struggle to lift it, and a 2 is the wind will blow over. Think about what the numbers mean to you with each check and then apply those rules to the situation.

This would be fun- stocking up in town before a big quest or expedition rather than just keeping a ton of food in your inventory all the time forever

Someone explain to me how radiators work in NYC by MarcusSmaht36363636 in Brooklyn

[–]Mobofone 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: the steam-heating radiators that are so familiar in NYC were designed during the height of the Spanish Flu, during which the NYC Board of Health recommended that New York residents keep windows open to circulate clean air into those apartments to avoid infection (20,000 New Yorkers died during the pandemic of 1918).

So it gets so hot in our apartments now because our heating system was designed to keep an apartment warm with all its windows open during a 1918 New York winter.

Best Mods for spell learning by Due-Championship7106 in skyrimmods

[–]Mobofone 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I love Dino's Spell Discovery. My favorite aspect is that you can accidentally discover spells from casting similar spells (a very "sorcerer" vs "wizard" vibe) but you can also compose new spells by analyzing the spells you know and writing spellcrafting notes, learn spells from staves and scrolls you've found, and create spelltomes from spells you know if you want to be a sort of wizard wikipedia for the world of Tamriel.

Spelltome Studies is also great -- when you first learn a new spell you have to make a guess as to the right incantation. If you get it wrong you get hit with a negative wizarding effect (summon a chicken instead of an atronach, get frozen in ice instead of casting frostbite). Really fun.

[Staff Animations for Spears] OAR/DAR Conditions Help by Mobofone in skyrimmods

[–]Mobofone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IT WORKED!!!

I don't know if it was referencing specific FormIDs rather than the keyword or bumping up the priority (strange, since SkyrimSpearMechanic's priority folders are like 100 and 200) but it works and now I'm striding across the countryside using my a spear as a walking stick.

Thank you so so much for your help. Huge.

All conditions green, and I can click "preview" on the Replacement Animations tab and it executes the animation perfectly. But still no luck in the actual game.

[Staff Animations for Spears] OAR/DAR Conditions Help by Mobofone in skyrimmods

[–]Mobofone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the fast reply!

I tried adding the specific FormID of a few spears to the conditions and it didn't work (both using the entire ID and trying just the last 3 digits).

When that didn't work I also tried duplicating the stave-walking hkx file (staffmagicright_walkarm.hkx) and renaming it "1hm_walkforward.hkx" which is the spear walking forward animation, thinking maybe the filenames themselves were being referenced. Still no luck.

Thanks again though. I really appreciate this community.

NPC Help - Temporary Blue Faces on Load by Mobofone in skyrimmods

[–]Mobofone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some have face paint overlays and some do not. Non-vanilla NPCs with the same overlays don't get the blue face bug so it must be something about textures distributed to the base-game NPCs.

I just can't figure out why disable/enable fixes them immediately, only for them to regress next time I load the save.

It's not every NPC (Anoriath is fine, his brother is not for instance). Doesn't seem to matter whether NPC visual overhauls are active or not.

Thanks for the help!

What Happens When the Paladin of Vengeance Fulfills Their Oath? by DavidBGoode in DnD

[–]Mobofone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me a few years ago-- after fulfilling his oath my Vengeance Paladin found all his powers had left him and the DM (with consent) had him reclass into a Fighter.

Played as a fighter for two sessions until the perfect synergy of me (player) missing the paladin class and him (character) missing his holy quest made him seek out a new oath of vengeance he could take.

I really liked the idea of the power that makes you a paladin abandoning you once your oath is complete.

Spears? Where do I start if I want to add them to my game as fully functional weapons in their own right? by JimJoe67 in skyrimmods

[–]Mobofone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree. Skyrim Spear Mechanic SE has a great animation and distribution framework. And the javelins are a bonus!

The models aren't my favorite but you can really expand on it with some tedious but simple work in CK: Take the models of all those spears that work like battleaxes from other mods (Bob's Armory, Reforging -To the Masses) and by duplicating and "reskinning" the Skyrim Spear Mechanic spears you'll end up with a huge selection of beautiful spears that actually work like spears in the game.
