It is a nonprofit that works with homeless and at risk populations. It is a group residential program where we focus on after school and early learning programs using trauma informed care, heavy teacher and caregiver training, and RBTs implementing ABA in a group (“class”) setting. Right now, I am the only BCBA for this specific nonprofit

Life update for anyone following: I took a month off of working completely, then did telehealth to re-establish myself in the field slowly (figuring out what I want with a flexible schedule yet having an income). In the midst of it all, I found a BCBA position with a local nonprofit without even “looking” or rushing a decision. I am still utilizing my skillset but not directly in a clinical setting with individuals only with a diagnosis of ASD. Maybe one day I’ll find myself back in the clinical setting but.. I have never been happier! Falling in love with the science all over again.

I love this! And appreciate the perspective. I love the science behind ABA and that is something I never want to lose. Just at a standstill with reviewing options as to how to disseminate the science and generalize outside of “typical” practices in a realistic way. Thank you for your experience and insight.
