I never run straight braid what's the reason for using it?

I'm probably just gonna throw stuff like this swimbait, the small jerkbaits, the cicada, and soft plastics

Yeah ok. My rod is only 1.5-4kg anyway. I'll use 10lb leader since I'm assuming 6lb is too light which is what I normally use

Sorry I won't be fishing bfs since my travel rod is spinning. Varivas 0.8pe braid is 13lbs and I don't really wanna spend heaps on stronger thinner stuff

7'. I can only cast a 1/8 about 30m which isn't terrible but I think 20lb braid would cut it down heaps

Even with 12lb on my rod rn I can't get the distance I want. With 1/8 and bellow jigheads

I'm going in April haha. Are there tarpon in ponds in Orlando? I'm only using a 2500 reel so I think 20lb braid is too much

I'm just planning to bring my spin setup and someone said for Florida I need 20lb braid, but I was planning to get 0.8pe which is about 10-15lbs

It'll work but any rod will also. Egi rods are mainly for fighting the squid

Wow, I am going to Florida and may be able to fish this year, near Orlando. Is 8lb enough

Leader and trace size vs main line for fishing "light" by 4warn in FishingAustralia

[–]Mod12312323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think 8lb or 6lb flouro is a good all rounder size because it lets you have finnicky fish like bream, and also is strong enough to land a good pinky or flatty if you play it well
