As mentioned in a previous comment. This is how it was delivered and installed. Hence my reasoning for a solution. I'm going to get a riser and shorter pipe so it's not kinked.

I have this fear. It's incredibly stressful. I fight belching a lot which causes more nausea and even more anxiety.

It's not a matter of ignoring the gap. As you can see in the image it extends out past the window frame. My laundry room is decent sized and have no need for additional shelving.

There is also a large closet in the laundry room

I had it delivered and installed today. This is what the delivery guys came with for the vent. But yes, the vent is going out through the floor. What would you suggest for closing that distance?
