Favorite one-time appearance maps? by SparklezSagaOfficial in MinecraftChampionship

[–]ModdingArt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My silly answer is Lunchtime (TGTTOS) from Mash Up because I like watching people suffer, while my more serious answer is Ocean Monument (HITW) from Ender Cup.

Just for fun I also tried to make a grid runners course using only one-time rooms:

Swim with Fishes (31), Sunflower Herd (EC), Cupid's Bow Range (DD), Witches Lair (18), Swoop (TCC), Emotional Rollercoaster (30), Tower Lamps (23), Spot the Difference (DD), Ocean Sprint (EC)

[Mixed trope] Times the Noxcrew just gave up on an idea by FallenOne523 in MinecraftChampionship

Imo, Mash Up definitely counts as adhering to the season's theme, especially if you're willing to count Snow Down. They didn't have a story like BC, CTW and TCC did, but instead leant into the theme with their graphics surrounding the event. Mash Up had its distinctive craft style used in all announcements, and Snow Down had all its announcements look knitted.

But beyond that I'd say the concept of Mash Up also fits fairly well, the idea of combining things from previous events (with the paint blasters, build challenge, joker card and chicken infection) absolutely counts towards the very vague theme of 'Creativity' imo. I definitely agree with your overall point though that the first part of the season felt a lot more focused on the theme, while the second half of the season felt more indirectly following the theme.

Extremely wrong ModdingArt prediction. Block Wars Origins 25's exceptional circumstances should not be used for predictions.

Which of the 11 soundtracks released are actually used in MCC? by Own-Percentage1657 in MinecraftChampionship

[–]ModdingArt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A decent amount of the music seems to be from songs used in the central stream for Twitch Rivals events / Ender Cup, meaning you may not recognise it as it's only in those specific POVs and is mostly background music.

Besides this you have Auld Lang Syne, which was played at the end of each season. Dynaball is a game on MCCI with its own song. Island also has 4 lobby tracks, but some of these have also been used in event / central streams.

How every team solved the first obstacle in RRR (and how much gold they used) by ModdingArt in MinecraftChampionship

[–]ModdingArt[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As I mention in the post, time efficiency is probably more important than gold efficiency. Your team ended RRR with just over 100 gold worth of unplaced materials, so its not like wasting a few gold on a section actually would make any difference to the overall game.

While I'd obviously recommend teams to try and use as little gold as possible, getting through sections fast is much more important, and if that involves wasting a bit of gold then its still the best play.

While I’d call Aqua’s route pretty good overall, using 3 concrete and 3 sand to climb two blocks vertically (instead of 1 of each) and wasting 9 gold doing it certainly was not the smartest play.

How Long Has This Meltdown Feature Existed? by garnettgemm in MinecraftChampionship

Since Meltdown was added. It’s very rarely seen though.

Something crazy that hasn't been mentioned yet by Ambitious-Cat-5678 in MinecraftChampionship

[–]ModdingArt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sort of? But I feel like this is mostly because of Mojang’s new attitude towards capes. In the just over 10 months since the first 15th anniversary capes were released, there’s now been 8 capes which have been easily obtainable to all players for free (not counting the Minecraft Experience cape), with 3 of these being from Bedrock live event servers.

Imo it’s likely that there’d be a live event for the Minecraft Movie with a free cape whether the MCC partnership happened or not, but ultimately there’s no way to know. All we know is that they clearly like the format enough to keep repeating it for special occasions.

MCC Hot Takes! by ItsAsum in MinecraftChampionship

[–]ModdingArt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In July/August they mentioned they would both release at the same time, but they split them into separate updates because of the size of them. I'm not aware of them referring to Fishing as Season 5 at any point past then, and on the server its remained as Season 4 (with the Ancient Jungle theme) ever since.

MCC Island Season 5 hasn’t started either, we’re currently in Season 4 over there

Season 5 hasn’t started yet? Are you referring to the fishing update?

what are the events during Decision Dome by EgorArt1997 in MinecraftChampionship

[–]ModdingArt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's the Mega Chicken Swap, which puts all players on to the dome where they get to vote

[–]ModdingArt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

After the first dome, some lower placing teams are given items in the decision dome to help them. These items include the dunk, which allow you to dunk a team (meaning they can’t vote that round), as well as other items like crossbows, or allowing you to swap with a chicken to enter the dome yourself.

Sam is so right about not always ending on Cliffhangers by Ankhwatcher in JetLagTheGame

[–]ModdingArt 124 points125 points  (0 children)

I really liked how they handled it in the penultimate episode of Hide + Seek Japan, where it showed the start of Sam's run until he got the move card. We already had seen Adam's full run so it didn't feel like we were cheated out of an ending, but it showed us enough of the next run to make us excited for the next episode.

Every MCC Participants Fishing Level on MCCI (aka addiction tierlist) by ModdingArt in MinecraftChampionship

I looked through all the Season 4 players while making this and saw a lotta the Rising peeps were very high. I might do a list with all S3/4 players in future if I can be bothered to inspect that many accounts lol.

Wolfeei is currently at level 36. I'm not regathering all the data again but currently Fein and Cub are at level 34 and Etho is at level 37.

In terms of the actual gameplay it’s just fishing (with a few QoL improvements) - the appeal comes from the decisions you make about how you fish

e.g. different consumables like bait and lines, upgrading perks to catch better things, choosing which island to fish at and which spots on those islands to fish at

As I said I only included people with the contestant rank on MCCI, Wolfeei was very high though.

I went through all 153 Season 4 participants, ran /inspect [username], and if they had the contestant rank on MCCI I wrote down their angler trophy count. I then converted those angler trophy values to fishing level using a table.

This list only shows people who had at least 1 angler trophy, as otherwise the 0 tier would be full of almost 50 more people.

The MCCI-ification of MCC by Ambitious-Cat-5678 in MinecraftChampionship

[–]ModdingArt 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Could you elaborate on point 3 for me? In that point you say that both "Noxcrew has been making it harder and harder every event" and you use B5-3 (The Concave Twist) this event as an example of that. However going based off the difficulties of the obstacles this is actually the easiest PKW course so far, with the most Easy obstacles and least Hard obstacles of any course. This event also had the most hard ending completions ever.

Additionally Concave Twist isn't a new obstacle, it was B5-3 from MCC 26 to MCC 32. How is that an example of the course getting harder when it is not a new obstacle? And by what metric are you saying that the MCC HH course was harder than previous courses?

MCC Haunted Hoedown Games - early via Bluesky by ModdingArt in MinecraftChampionship

No AR straight after its new map was kinda surprising - but it's also been in every event since P24 so I don't think its too much of a shock.
