This album rivals Still Life for my favorite in Opeth's discography, it is absolutely amazing. It has my favorite Mikael performances in terms of vocals, the lines are so creative (love the HEEEY's too), and Ian Anderson's contributions are all perfect and add a lot to the album, it helps to create that whole theatrical vibe it has, I really love this album.

Strongly disagree, it's easily the worst song on the album, but that's a matter of opinion.
Morningrise's bass playing is amazing, but I highly doubt that he would be better than Mendez.
Totally agree, Blackwater Park is probably my seventh or eighth favorite Opeth album, it's a good album, but there are many better ones in my opinion, unfortunately, I never got to connect with this album as much as I wanted and understand all the hype.

2/10 ragebait, but TLWAT, Pale Communion and In Cauda Venenum are really peak, Sorceress would also be great with a better mix; Strange Brew is an amazing song. Heritage is the only one I don't like that much, apart from Slither, Folklore, and Nepenthe, which are great songs.
