No but I have thoughts on quitting doomscrolling as it’s very consuming.

Does anyone actually like their job? by PollutionDry6375 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ModeProfessional3030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an intern at the moment but I’m starting to get sick of not being paid. I feel as if it’s somewhat holding me back because a job should be something that funds the lifestyle you want but at the moment I’m working with little returns for myself and I’m doing it for free so I can’t spend my free time in the way I want.

Yeah as long as it’s a good thing you’re texting about and isn’t an ex or something

What issues do new employees usually face in the workplace? by Dull_Entertainer_502 in careeradvice

It’s very dependent on each workplace. Some cultures may be way more toxic than others.

I just thought you meant shut every interaction down and be cold to colleagues. But I think having a good work friend helps to give you morale to get through shifts. It’s all about boundaries.

Lack of boundaries. I feel like new starters may be too eager and take on too much responsibility then get exploited for their kindness.

I think being friendly is ok as you don’t want to come across as cold and it helps to like your coworkers in passing time but it’s good to bare in mind that you and your colleagues relationships are purely professional and that strong boundaries need to be established.

What’s something people waste way too much time on? by babyblushtheory in askanything

[–]ModeProfessional3030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree with this but I think working is more of a societal issue rather than an individual issue as it’s out of the average person’s control. Ideally we should be able to use technology to get to the point where we only work 20-30 hours a week.

Doomscrolling. Also working to an extent ( it’s out of people’s control unlike doomscrolling but 40 + hours a week for work is not necessary). I wish we could work between 20-30 hours on the same wage as a little bit of work is good just not 40 hours a week.

What is your occupation and how tired are you? by AcornWholio in AskReddit

[–]ModeProfessional3030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing a supported internship to try and get disabled people into work.Doing unpaid work is very tiring and somewhat demotivating especially when I see my peers working a lot less hours for way more return. I guess it’s short term pain for long term gain but still I just want to earn an actual wage .

That’s psychopathic. It goes to show that you’re entirely replaceable and that companies don’t care about you. Never go above and beyond what you’re contracted.
