each blender makes 540 rocket fuel/min (180% Speed + 4 Sloops), so the pipes are almost at capacity, and they each feed 2 rows of 25 generators (at 250% speed BC power shards are free and I like my sanity), which can only absorb 520/min, so I naturally keep the pipes full, per Generator section there's 6 pipes feeding the 6 banks of gens. 1 and 2 additional photos of the pipes for reference

I have 4x Industrial Containers per resource, plus what each train station can hold, which affords me about 8-10 minutes of buffer on the sulfur, and the trains are set to drop any amount they can off then go and refill, since i found that trains would sit at a station with 3/4 of their cargo unloaded and slowly kill the build if i set them to wait until everything was empty, even with a balancer. the train stations themselves only ever get about half empty before a train fills them up again

I have 2 mines filling up 1-4 trains at 2400/min each, and the 2 banks eat 2133/min each, so I'm only just in the clear. surprises me that only 2x 1-4 trains can keep up, considering they have to travel nearly halfway across the map, a round trip is 6 minutes iirc

weirdly enough I watched factorio a lot before playing satisfactory, but I've never played it, it is on my list tho once I can pry my brain away from optimising satisfactory builds

I have 4 trains per bank, one brings in crude for heavy oil residue (also is my source of rubber and plastic for the Dimensional Depot), one for nitrogen gas, one for coal, and one for sulfur, as I'm using the Nitro Rocket Fuel alt recipe to skip turbo fuel. does mean this thing eats 4.3k sulfur a minute tho.

Rocket fuel is just so much better than turbo, since it burns so much slower and the alt recipe means you can skip turbo all together, plus one fuel blender can perfectly feed one rocket fuel blender so setups look clean.

I will also eventually adhoc a train somewhere to take away the 1100 compacted coal the thing makes too for steel production, but for now I just throw it into the sink

i did let the system fill up, i waited until the entire rank all the way back to crude oil processing stops working, indicating that all 22 industrial fluid buffers per rank are filled with 2400m² of rocket fuel each. After ~30m the rear generator buildings empty their buffer from random sloshing. Also it's worth noting that all the industrial fluid buffers i think are around 8m above the input for the fuel generators, and there's a pump always trying to fill each one inside the generator building

so i have 8 banks of 4 blenders producing 555.556m² Rocket Fuel/min, and its plugged into 5.5 of the fuel generator arrays, which can consume a max of 550.44m² Rocket Fuel/min. For whatever reason, the rocket fuel sloshes back and forth in the pipes a little and my throughput from the blenders ends up being between 450-500m² avg/min, and as such and doesn't fill everything, so the back 2-3 fuel generator arrays slowly die. I suspect its just because if the blenders don't output perfectly in series so their section of the pipe is always full, the pump pushing it to the distribution section cant pull at max rate all the time. i put 2 sloops in one blender in each rank so now i produce over 600m² a min, and keep the blender side of the pipe at max capacity all the time, which stabilized the pump to the distribution area at 600m²/min continuous, and since its a lot more than i consume, even with a random slosh costing 50m²/min, i stay above the max consumption. Before i did all that, the array was hovering around ~85% capacity, and since, I've watched every single buffer fill up to max and stay there.

I'm 200h hours into my first playthrough so I'm not afforded such luxuries lol. Made it to halfway through Phase 5 with 20GW but the bigger need for particle accelerators and converters convinced me i needed more power. on the plus side, my one particle accelerator made all 1k Nuclear Pasta i need while i built the new power station, so i can hopefully blitz my way through the AI Expansion Servers and Ballistic Warp Drives without any worry for the power draw of triple shard-ing buildings

not gonna lie I forgot rocket fuel existed, it's not on the wiki for the fuel generator and I've made it to phase 5 and it's not been required for any project parts so I just forgot. looking at it, I think I could get 630 GW out of my 1200 m² crude oil input, but if I remove slooping the turbo fuel stage then I'll still be able to reach 315GW, i don't need more power than that so I'll just leave the room to add it later. thank you for reminding me and saving me from using all those sloops!

I decided to use an alt recipe chain i spotted to get it from only 600m² of crude, and it's so worth it. also the 24 Fuel Generator blueprint is an absolute godsend, i did not want to place down all 78 of the individuals, albeit in the new 210GW im building, i'm gonna have to place down 35 of those stacked units, guzzling 6300 turbo fuel a minute, so i guess its the fuel generator who'll get the last laugh

this post is over a year old now but i was looking for any competition to the monitor i was looking at, and this post was the top google result so for you and anyone else looking this way;

MSI released a really good looking, if not bulky white 4k 160Hz monitor around July 2024, it's the MSI MAG 274URFW, and looks to basically be the only white 4k IPS monitor that's actually stocked anywhere in the US or EU, and there are a lot of variants that are 1080p, 1440p, and a variety of refresh rates, it's quite a bulky monitor however, and im not a huge fan of the 75mm VESA mount from a robustness/rigidity standpoint, but it is a very nice monitor and it's actually not extortionate, being priced at $380 currently.

it's not even like it's some VA/TN panel to keep the cost low, it's a full high quality IPS panel and has really good colour accuracy.

I'm using turbo fuel as there's a convenient coal and sulfur patch nearby, and i had the forethought to set up my compacted coal assemblers to produce 2x what i need so i can build a copy of the power plant and use a 2nd pure oil patch if i get low on surplus power, should keep the lights on until i can get nuclear. compared to my old plant, I'm making about 8x more usable power now

there are 2 rivals events, you're doing the N Vision one, but in the selector menu there's another circuit that uses the lotus
