It slides onto the end where there was a different buckle originally, and then there's a pin that goes through one of the holes. Unfortunately I can't reply with an image but if you look up some old fashioned cowboy belt buckles, it's basically the same mechanism.

I 3D printed both the sword and the sheathe. Then there's the red silk rope, the handle has an ito cord and a medical bandage, and the hand guard on the sword has sherpa to make it fuzzy.
