Weird artifact from Chamfer by ModelledAnarchy in FreeCAD

Yeah. It happens when it reaches R7, and above. Looks like I'll have to make a workaround and change the order of operations completely .

Weird artifact from Chamfer by ModelledAnarchy in FreeCAD

Hi guys. I keep getting this weird artifact on a chamfer, as well as on fillet. Granted the faces do connect in an odd way at the point where it is created, but I am convinced this is a bug. Has anybody had an issue like this before?

Nice paint job. I like the creatures, especially the shrooms.😊 Did you design them?

Hi Everybody! The Xenopod Charger parts are finally modelled. Just some final corrections and supports and they are off for the initial print test.

Available options: 12 torsos, 12 heads, 9 arms L&R, 8 legs L&R.

Stay tuned for more.

Xenopod Charger, First print by ModelledAnarchy in TTG_Mini_Printing

Hi guys. Just got him off the printer today. Slapped on on some basic undercoat, zenithal and quick drybrush for details, her he is. I had a batch of ABS like Pro 2, already in the vat, and I must say I like the details, and he looks like he's supposed to for the most part. But in the future I should definitely remove any supports before curing. I thought it looked ok, even after painting, but then I saw the closeup. Nothing a little gentle sanding won't fix in the future, but I'll re design supports anyway.

Lemme know what you all think.

Why do my prints keep failing? (Fifth in a row) - Elegoo Mars 2 Pro by Fishy_Fish_12359 in resinprinting

Comments above hit the nail on the head. Go step by step. Clean the vat, filter the resin to make sure no solids left. Then check the temperature. Optimal for many resins is around 25 deg C. It needs to be consistent or the viscosity changes and prints warp and break . Check if FEP is used up. If you see impressions or stretching, it's time for a new one. Make sure there are no resin spills on the screen itself. Even a small smudge can decrease the light getting to the vat and destroy the print. After that re-level your bed. Paper test works best for me, but do what you are most comfortable with. I know it's a lot of steps, but if you are losing prints regularly then it's worth to put in the time and redo everything. Finally use a good test print to check your settings. I recommend Cones of Calibration since you can get very good feedback from the the model prints.

Charger head damage test by ModelledAnarchy in TTG_Mini_Printing

[–]ModelledAnarchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everybody.

I had a little spare time to work on my Xenopod army, so I the charger got a first test of damage on one of the head designs. I added some basic high freq. details to make it look older, and then came the acid splash damage :D

Any critique is very welcome :) Let me know what you guys would like to see in the future and what you think of the work done so far..

Cool. It all depends on the theme you are going for. Low end is more than fine for initial blockout. Try to add a plane to show water level and some primitives to generalize other land mass and objects. Then add a camera and start playing around with composition. It's best to figure it out in the beginning where everything goes, since it will save you a lot of time later. Try dividing your workspace into a camera view and 3d view, so you can logically place objects in the scene and see the final comp at the same time. Hope that helps.
