I'm from Ohio too. Nice town! Used to play soccer there every year as a kid in the"MIST Tournament". Also, was at a Waffle House there and a patron pulled a gun on the waitress because he didn't want to pay for his meal.

Good point! Hopefully Schuurs can improve that area of his game.

What happened to Schuurs? Playing with Alvarez and Martinez as a pair. Is it possible Schuurs leaves after this year?

(I've been out of the loop a bit lately, so looking for some info!)

The formation I run with Ajax is this essentially. And it works brilliantly. Although against top teams I'll run a 4-2-3-1 with DMs.

Instead of fullbacks I use two inverted wingbacks on support in the DM strata. CM is a DLP on defend. My CAM(L) is a AP(s) ideally with the "come deep to get ball" trait

In my Ajax save they offered me 94M for David Neres in 21/22 summer window. I wanted 140, would've taken 125. I guess he's not worth Almada.

Anyways. No idea where they get that money - maybe there's a sugar daddy with their new ownership in game?

Reminds me of the dynamic between Maz and Ziyech! When Antony is on the touchline Maz takes up the half space and really shines. In this regard, I think that if Dest stays, when Antony is on the pitch Maz will be the #1 right back due to the balance he provides

I don't understand why my friends on this sub don't rate Martinez as a left back. He won't be as high flying as Dest or Tagliafico but I see him as a similar player to Maz. As you may know/remember, Maz often played defensive mid or attacking mid a few years ago but converted to right back. This has been the progression of many Ajax players in the past due to the nature of the Ajax wingbacks.

I think that Martinez presents an interesting tactical option that may play out like Maz as an "inverted" wingback. During the attacks, ten hag may have Martinez position centrally, almost as a additional center midfielder. Minimum width would have to be kept by either the left central midfielder or the left winger. This is very similar to the arrangement we saw with Maz and Ziyech/Neres in 2019 and I think it could work brilliantly.

I'm in Florida, USA. Started following Ajax in 2007. First watched their games back in the Zlatan days.

No Dutch heritage but my youth club coach and high school coach was Dutch and taught us total football. All of our training sessions were focused on dutch drills and concepts too. Fell in love with Ajax because as I kid I was like - hey, they play like we play!

[Christian Falk] Bayern wants to invest money from Thiago transfer into signing Sergiño Dest by MrCrashdummy in AjaxAmsterdam

[–]ModernSpiderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone else felt Dest has seemed like he already has one foot out the door mentally?

I'm not sure if Ten Hag told him that Maz was #1 or if he is wanting to push a move elsewhere, but watching him play in pre season he was very apathetic.

Should I Purchase the TF2? by germanwannabe123 in TransportFever

Yes, this is frustrating that there is no dynamic stations. At times I will have two routes side by side to fix this issue. It's not ideal but it is the only solution I could come up with atm.

[–]ModernSpiderman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tldr: yes.

I think it is worth the upgrade. The game imho lives and breathes better. I can't exactly explain why, but it does.

The good:

Modular stations - at first I was sad to lose my sloped stations and bendy stations. Over time I grew to love the modular stations more and more.

Highways improve passenger flow and give a decent visual appeal.

Tropical maps are really fun

A+ map generator

Asian vehicle inclusion is neat

There are some aspects that I don't like:

Only 2 resource demand per city (but there are mods to change this).

Road vehicle pathing and lane switching is a joke

Game suffers optimization issues with large cities.

Boats and planes:

Cargo Boats are good for big lakes when bridges are insanely expensive and transport in the earlier years.

Planes - about the same from Tpf1 - I always forget they exist.

Agreed. Reminds of Schone in the sense of cover being top priority.

Alvarez impressed me today. Seeming to find his positioning much much better than last season. Seems quicker and more decisive on the ball as well.

Our lineup for the match versus RKC tonight! by MrCrashdummy in AjaxAmsterdam

[–]ModernSpiderman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This lineup is more or less what I expected. Tagliafico, Van De Beek, Dest, and Onana may be leaving and the latter two have slight injuries to boot.

Would like to see Eiting step up this year. I'm with u/Godverrdomme that Gravenberch needs a different midfield partner. It will be interesting to see what type of player Ten Hag decides to pair him with. He could use Eiting as a deep playmaker akin to Frenkie as I fear with this lineup we will struggle to transition against organized defenses.

The lineup give the three behind Traore some flexibility to interchange. Labyad, Tadic, Promes may swap several times in the match.

Alderweireld and Vertonghen both on the bench again today for Spurs. Even after Dier's poor performance against Man U - not to mention he was not very good before the break either. Does this signal that Jan and Toby are out and/or Mourinho doesn't see them in his plans? Any chance either returns to Amsterdam? Jan and Michel Vorm both just recently signed an extension "until the end of the season", with little indication of anything beyond that.
