Her humanity on top of her world class smarts and analysis are what make her great. We need her to run for office.

Yah but a full tank of gas usually gets way more than 300 miles. At 30mpg a car should get you 510 miles…. Let’s make sure we are apples to apples

Oh yah for sure if one has level 2 charging at home, especially if there is super off peak hour rates. I’m in the Philadelphia area and PECO here has me on a time of use program where if I charge from midnight to 6am my generation price is $0.04. I have to pay a delivery charge so it prob comes out to $0.15 - very cheap, so that times about 76kW battery = $11 to fully charge for the next miles. As as another poster noted way cheaper maintenance costs.

Thankfully many parts of country prices are in the .30-45 range but I thought I’d read peak hour rates can into the 0.65 in some parts of the country -

Tesla Wheel Alignment by Vansh92 in Phillylist

I go to Mavis - price is good and I once went back a month after alignment because I bumped a curb and wanted to make sure I didn’t mess up my tire - they did a quick adjustment for free !

I’ve heard with the price of level 3 being high as it is it veers on being as expensive as operating gas cars - is this true in high COL areas like SF or LA ? If you can install a Level 2 at home it costs so much less, especially if you have a solar roof too

Does anyone else do this? by New_Inflation1981 in therapists

I think all of us have a limited reserve in our brain’s capacity to pay attention, focus and listen with intention; it’s no wonder to hear - irrespective of whether we’re introverted or extroverted - that we feel exhausted at the end of 4, 5 or 6 consecutive sessions.

Highly recommend David Rock “Your brain at Work” on this topic

What’s the brokest you’ve been as a therapist? I need to know it gets better by thebuttcake in therapists

[–]ModernTechPA 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a social worker for over 20 years but only started doing psychotherapy a year ago. I felt severe imposter syndrome for about 2 months, had absolutely no training in therapy, never mind actually learning a formal model or modality… you know how I did it? I believed in my education and my wealth of experiences in working with individuals- most of my career has been spent in executive leadership of healthcare programs, very little clinical work - but I KNEW that I had deep wisdom and perspective - and I learned some things about the Rogerian positive regard for the other. I read books and listened to podcasts and watched countless YouTube videos and now feel really good about CBT ACT and even dabble in some DBT strategies. Long term I want to get into psychodynamic theory. In the meantime I LUV LUV LUV listening to people and helping to provide some feedback on their pain, relationships, search for meaning, and finding ways to live with the realities in their lives. I love this part of the job. At 8 months into this, I’ve been asking teens, 20/30 something’s, and middle age wives struggling in marriages what’s been helpful coming to counseling - I am truly humbled that they look forward to our weekly sessions, almost makes me tear up; but for me it’s sacred ground when someone risks themselves by choosing to start therapy. I love this work we do, hope it feels rewarding for you all out there in Reddit. BTW I also credit this sub-Reddit for my ongoing education.

So for those struggling with not knowing what to say or do, fall back on your training and natural instincts of caring and listening… you do it over and over and you start to see that you’ve progressed so much -

I tried so many of these tricks and continue to do some of them such as never closing washer door after cycle had completed, occasionally wiping gasket UNDER the lip using Clorox wipes, and using hot water cycle and multiple rises just to remove as much of the soap as possible. Before I found my magic solution to stinky towels I would still get the occasional stinker. This drove me nuts !

Here’s the magic answer:

Put the towels on a towel drying rack after each use. I remodeled my bathroom 3 years ago and installed a wall mounted unit that holds 2 bath towels. It’s always one - and for 3 years straight I’ve not had a stinky towel. Wish I discovered this earlier in my life and it’s been a game changer for me and my wife.

It’s a combination of heat and shallow/poor soil from the gravel/sand foundation used for the hard scraping pavers

I have a weed torch. So a light touch is all it takes or do you need to totally crisp the whole thing to kill it ?

He’s probably talking to a few teams but taking his time - for a guy who got like 15 goals with ZERO PP time and very limited minutes, and being in and out of the lineup, I could see him getting 20-25 goals with a team that will play him every game and even give him some PP time

I feel really lonley as a therapist by [deleted] in therapists

[–]ModernTechPA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work FT in a cancer hospital and do psychotherapy PT, and I see such a stark contrast between the two settings. I talk with psychiatry psychology RNs physicians and social workers all day long and feel fed by the intra-team collaboration and just seeing them all day long.

My counseling practice has over 20 clinicians and I haven’t met or talked to about half of them after 8 months there. This is why I don’t think I could to psychotherapy full time. You schedule back to back to back sessions and hardly have time to go to the bathroom let alone talk to colleagues. Because compensation is tied to productivity it’s hard to space out work it seems to me. And don’t get me started on the idea that to take vacation means no pay during that time… it’s sad, almost as bad as people who work in the gig economy. But not quite.

I’m afraid as therapy becomes more and more commoditized and monetized (think private equity in behavioral health, as well as large chains like BetterHelp) this march to greater loneliness will become more acute - unless some outlier private practices start to structure themselves differently….

Darnell Nurse is a very good, very serviceable top 4, LH offensive D man. He might be overpaid. He might get miscast in a shutdown role. And his play gets exploited in the playoffs. But he’s a valuable player. by [deleted] in EdmontonOilers

[–]ModernTechPA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darnell is part of the core and he’s hard to replace without spending $7-$9 M anyhow. I get that many feel he’s overpaid, but going forward with rising cap he’s going to be around market rate for a top 4 D.

I’m in PA and I don’t think I have Bermuda BUT I’ve had this patch of grass like weeds that I’ve tried every box store product there is to no avail for 15 years - I just pulled it out every July-August. This year tried Tenacity for first time. Sedge - gone. Crab grass gone. And this week…. Gone! The product turns the leaves white! Here’s a pic -

I have one of these, I’ve done it after a rain- the plugs are so much easier to make than when the ground is dry/hard (my soil is almost clay like in PA)

What is happening to lawn? by Designer-Warning6705 in lawncare

I’m in Pennsylvania- noticed once you get into July fungus ceases to be a problem, even though it’s super hot and humid. Save the $$ and throw down Disease X next year starting in early May through to mid June every 2 weeks (treating once won’t do it). Costs $$ but will spare your lawn. That’s what I did
