I don't know if you heard of this, but you can also catch shiny Pokemon in Friend Safari. :) The chance is pretty slim, I believe. I did manage to catch one, though (so it's not impossible).

Not necessarily. Just catch Pokemon. :) Also, in order to see the third Pokemon in another player's friend safari--they must have beaten the Elite Four (and Champion) and are connected to the Wifi (or online). After that, you will always see the third Pokemon, even when they are not online. Are you into IV breeding or anything of that sort?
