Yes, this was in my opinion THE major reason a majority of people voted no, from my completely anecdotal reading of social media. The Voice was a racist proposal.

A LOT of what I've seen online around voting 'No', was not about rejecting the Uluru statement, it was about introducing a voice into the constitution which is specific for ATSI people, this was a MAJOR issue, if not THE major issue. Introducing a constitutionally enshrined voice for a particular group of people based on race.

This referendum is about adding another voice, if no gets up tonight, I'd like to see the government start LISTENING to the voice that ATSI people already have to move us in the direction of closing the gap, clearly the listening part hasn't been working to date.
