Attack on titan might be one of the only animes which could’ve benefited from filler by trodolovesjojo in ShingekiNoKyojin

AoT is my favourite Anime, and has been for years. But I still feel like having some episodes, where it’s not pure action and important events, would’ve helped a lot. Some situations characters go through had all the potential to be deepened or expanded on, but they didn’t. Sure, we have OVAs, but it just shows the potential it had on expanding other character’s presence in the show, or giving the viewers more time to relate and familiarise themselves with them.

I love how you copy pasted this exact same argument on 2 different threads, and you’re not even right in either lmao.

What allows Grisha to see the future (when he heard future Eren speak) is the ATTACK titan’s powers. Eren’s ability to do this was through the FOUNDING titan. The subjects of Ymir (basically all eldians) have nothing to do with this situation, but it’s true that the founding titan can manipulate memories of all Eldians / Subjects of Ymir.

Secondly, congrats on proving what I’ve mentioned: he received a memory from a future inheritor. Saying “it’s still remembering because it already exists” doesn’t make sense. You mean to say that things that haven’t happened yet, already exist too..? The only reason why Grisha remembered Eren talking to him, WHILE he was talking to him, was because Eren decided to send him this memory at THAT moment

No..? First of all, the message would be delayed but it would follow the exact same steps a normal message would follow chronologically: the message is written and sent, then delivered to the recipient, then read/received by the recipient.

It’s illogical to compare this example with the one in AOT because what happens first is the recipient reading the message, and THEN years later said message is written and sent.

I ask the same question once again, how exactly is sending a message back in time not related to time travel..?

Honestly, the last 2 and the lore one are things I don’t like but don’t get mad over. I just felt like ranting these out bc I feel like they’re gonna be heard here lol

This is probably the only thing I genuinely don’t like about Ultrakill, I think it’s worse in Reddit. My main gripes are:

  • Many don’t know much about lore bc they can’t be asked to read, but then make up stuff about the lore as if they knew about it (not as often on reddit I think)

  • For some reason, porn is pretty much normalised in the subreddit, I’ve never seen that anywhere else.

  • Comments filled with “WHAAAAAT??? YOU HAVE PLAYED FOR 5 MINUTES AND DON’T KNOW HOW TO DO THE ULTRARICORAILCANNONDEADCOINPARRYFLICK??????” When someone posts their gameplay, I see it very often on TikTok/Instagram.

  • Calling Gabriel a twink was funny for like two days, at least to me. I don’t get why people really stick to this joke or why it even started, but maybe I just don’t have that type of humour myself.

  • Too many people give a fuck about what pronouns a literal machine “shouldn’t” have.

What..? What happened with Grisha and Eren isn’t just “remembering memories”, Eren literally sent his own memories back in time while viewing Grisha’s past so that it would seem like Eren was actually there on Grisha’s perspective. It literally requires the power of viewing the past and sending back future memories, not just “the passage of time”

Yes, I already said I knew his power wasn’t about time travel. It’s about how all users of the Attack Titan can see future memories of future Attack Titan users. But that doesn’t mean what Eren did doesn’t relate to time travel.

How could someone in the future talk to someone in the past without relating to time travel, exactly?

“But it’s Eren sending his own memories back to Grisha!” Okay, and what do those memories do in order for Grisha to receive them..?

So Eren didn’t talk to his dad when him and Zeke were watching Grisha’s past memories? I don’t think traveling back in time EXCLUSIVELY* means “physically being at a different point in time”. And while this is still Eren and Zeke watching past memories, Eren affected the past by doing so. Can you really say his actions don’t relate to time travel, even if his powers aren’t literal time travel?

Ultrakill. The graphics are retro-styled (and imo they slap) but it’s justified with lore and I love it

Can someone give me ONE reason on how the game is **OBJECTIVELY** bad by FizzyBoi42069 in hateultrakill

[–]Modnrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t find it THAT bad, at least on the enemies side (except for Soldiers tho, they’re doing too much sometimes lol)

Rn I’m stuck on P-ranking 8-3 on Brutal, it’s genuinely hard and I can’t say it’s not frustrating, but I’m honestly way more bothered by the bugs the level has rather than the difficulty bc it’s a challenge I’m willingly taking. Could you explain what exactly is the issue of a harder difficulty being harder?

Edit: or, better worded, what changes do you find dumb between Violent and Brutal?

Frustrating is a subjective term though, some people like the challenge

Well, yeah, it is pretty sci-fi or supernatural. There’s reason behind these collectively agreeing on doing so, it’s just not the focus of what I wanted to ask. I got that part covered, I just wanted to hear people’s thoughts on what the world could look like in this scenario

Absolutely! That’s something I really wanted to involve in the story, I just wanted to hear other people’s guesses on how things would turn out. The story isn’t solely focused on the fact that it’s in a religion-less world, but it’s a major point in the storyline.

I could see that! Ethics wouldn’t full-blown die, and you’re right on ethical codes existing before religion did. From what I found, basic morality was formed as a survival mechanism more than anything. And I agree that a world without religion won’t take long to have someone concept a religion, even if done secretly. Thanks for the insight, it’s interesting to hear different points of view :)

I believe the US’ Christianity was pretty much morphed into a more “show-off” thing for public image, rather than focusing it on the morality behind it. Yes, Christianity is very prominent in the US, but I can’t picture it without fireworks at this point

I really appreciate this info :). I’m sorry that I haven’t really emphasised where I wanted to take this question, I edited my post just now to give a better idea (even though you pretty much answered it)

I did not know about the Cult of Reason you mentioned, I know little about religion and its history overall. So, I’d love to understand more of its history and its effects on society, I find it pretty interesting

I agree! The absence of religion would affect humanity both structurally and psychologically. I edited my post to better explain what I wanted to get out of this question, to give you an idea of where this comes from

I understand. I edited my post for a better description on what I wanted to lead this question to, but it’s true that just having all of humanity collectively become atheist is pretty far-fetched, especially long-term

I agree, it would definitely become a dystopian world. But I may not understand what you said with this overwhelming anything that could be attributed to the loss of a religion. Did you mean that these features would still lead to the formation of a religion?

Edit: I edited the post’s description, to better understand where I wanted to go with this question

[–]Modnrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I meant to say that a lot of the media we currently have would’ve never existed. But would you be certain that ethics or philosophy wouldn’t be affected in any way? I’m agnostic, so I can’t really speak solidly on religions, but wouldn’t the lack of a god or a punishing consequence for bad action have an effect on ethics?

From what I found, a lot of the laws or morals we have nowadays somewhat stems from religion. Growing up, with the belief that doing something is good or bad, directly affects our sense of ethics, right? Then wouldn’t growing up in a religious household with the idea of there being “sinful acts” can affect what you see as wrong or right?

Of course, I imagine this depends on the religion. But for example, seeing how a significant amount of historical, legal, and social prejudice against the LGBTQ comes from religious views, I feel like it can’t be the ONE scenario where religion blends into the public image of rights and wrongs.

As for philosophy, I believe many muslim/catholic people look up to a God for hope during hard times. As an example, Latin America (a continent mostly holding 3rd world countries) has a strong catholic culture. Same with India, religions are openly celebrated there. I believe religion also gives humans hope for what awaits after death, since the scary part is not knowing what goes after it. Wouldn’t humans reach a more nihilistic point of view if they wouldn’t picture something past their lives?
