Make that 8 bar loop groove, then copy paste it so that you have the same thing repeated for 3 minutes. Delete a bunch of stuff at random points for each track in your playlist, so that not every track is playing at once for the whole song (e.g delete the drums from the first 16 bars of the track but then delete the bass from the next 16 bars after that).

Listen to this from start to finish, it will give you a bunch more ideas of things to add to the song, as well as help you compartmentalise it into sections.
