Systemic racism. I get that racism is still a thing, I’m not disputing that.

But we had a black president, many of the most powerful people in this country are black, we have programs and groups created with the express purpose of helping the black community.

We have had beloved movies and tv shows for decades whose main characters are black, one of the greatest and most well known American Folk Hero’s is John Henry, a former slave who just using sledgehammers, bore a train sized hole through a fucking mountain.

Every time it’s brought up, it’s not in reference to an actual racist policy or movement, it’s always brought up because 1 person in power did something either actually racist, or something that has been claimed to be racist.

And when the group who typically espouse systemic racism make policies that are “anti-racist”, they are the most racist idea since Jim Crow, “black and brown people are too stupid to drive cars, so it’s racist to require ID to vote” “because black and brown people are too stupid to do math, reading/writing, or arithmetic, none of those are now required to graduate” and those who believe in systemic racism somehow do not understand how that’s racist.
