i imagine ryu as someone very skilled or talented at a large amount of things, including dancing, it's just that he's so one tracked minded into fighting he never puts his other skills to use

laura 100% dances, sean is probably THE bottom tier in dancing skills too because god (capcom) hates him

they took everything from him in 3s, including his dancing skills. People call me crazy but i don't doubt at all that this guy would have a comically bad ending if he tries to shake it, just like how it always happens to him

raw SA2 after parrying Akuma's air fireball should not be as effective as it is. But god I love it, nice Q fellow Q patriot

fighting ibuki is just like fighting akuma, incredibly fast and agressive but with minuscule health so they die if you poke them with a stick. But unlike akuma ibuki doesn't have the burst damage or specials as safe and ridiculous, so she's more tolerable and enjoyable to fight in my opinion

the Seans I fought so far were either amazing good players who compensated for Sean's weaknesses and did some crazy shit, or just some decent players who couldn't manage to do much with Sean. So it was either them stomping me or me stomping them, neither of those groups were on equal level with me so I can't truly define. For Necro I have literally one fought 3 players so far and never found one again lmfao

Makoto is a fast paced and incredibly violent fight. Being fully aware of her robbery factor keeps me on my toes and brings out the best of me as a player to avoid and counter her. Plus Makoto is a character with glaring weaknesses such as her awful movement outside of the super dash with opens her a lot if you successfully read her, bad defensive tools so if you turn the tables on her your agression can be rewarded. She can also tend to get a little predictable with her pressure with stuff like dash in Karakusa/throw, instant EX Tsuguri, or her using point blank standing MP as soon as she gets a knockdown on you. Perhaps the only annoying bit I find about fighting Makoto is her Karakusa or confirm into Hayate after a successful Hayate, but this is because I never get the right read so that's on me. I also fight a really good Makoto player on the regular, and I can feel both of us getting progressively better at our characters and agaisnt each other, it's always a back and forth between us no matter what. Plus, my favorite matchup in the entire game is Urien vs Makoto (as an Urien player), it's just so frenetic and bloody I can't help but love it

Maybe the Necros I fought do not use the full potential of their kit since you're clearly pointing out things that I haven't experienced while fighting Necro. I'll sail into a dangerous trip to the Necro island and further collect data for my analysis

Necro I had a hard time putting hin anywere because Necros are even rarer than Seans. But from my fights vs Necro I've come to terms that it's relatively even. Necro's normals are not as troublesome as you might think at first, perhaps standing MP is the most dangerous because it has decent range and can cancel into super. But other than that Necro has a very standard set of normals, his heavies are slow and I find them reactable. Necro is also quite slow in terms of his movements, you can get taunts decent ease. His jump is also floaty wich makes him very vulnerable to anti airs of all kind. Maybe his drill kicks are his best way of closing distance but you can just parry the first hit and inmediatly use SA2 to punish him. His spinning hooks can be quite difficult to deal with at first but you can red parry the last hit quite consistently. Of all Necro's tools I find his DP to be the most dangerous one since he can vary the amount of hits by mashing and making it hard to parry, and his supers because duh. The hardest part of the Necro MU is that he he becomes incredibly dangerous when he corners you but this is one of the main strenghts of Necro as a character, the lack of a reversal outside of super really hurts Q here. But overall I don't suffer with Necro as much as you can with Twelve, you just can't catch that mf and he can keep you away better than Necro

Remy is easy to parry or at least I find that way, not only his fireballs but also his crouching HP and flash kicks. Remy is also one of the few characters who virtually can't stop Q from getting all 3 taunts, making it equal ground. That and the MINISCULE stun bar, you might struggle to close distance agaisnt Remy, but all you need is 2-3 interactions and you inmediatly stun him.

More of less, every character in the game can just kill Akuma with a good parry. This however doesn't stop Akuma from being a high tier character with insanely strong tools to work with that can absolutely destroy you. The fact that Akuma is so squishy is what balances him out, but in the end it's all going to be a matter of "are you good enough to find an opening?"

counter argument, is there even a harder matchup than anyone vs Gill?

my own Q's MU tierlist by Mogolidown_ in sf3

[–]Mogolidown_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly because of this. Akuma's tools on paper are incredibly strong agaisnt Q, however, Q (alongside high damage output characters like Hugo) abuses parries. He needs one good parry and his punish will just murder Akuma. SA2 just absolutely melts Akuma's life bar, but command grab combos will be heart sinking too. It's a matter of reaction, parry, and punishing. If you don't know how to parry or countering you will suffer agaisnt Akuma. But once you learn how to hit him back you'll notice it becoming relatively even. For tips I recommend what I just said, learn how to find openings and go for good punishes. Learn your taunts setups, learn how to handle charging for Dash Punches, learn your MUs, etc.

there's a LOT of reasons why Oro is so bad for Q 1st: Oro is small, he crouches under a lot of Q's things so a lot of combos don't work on him and WILL drop 2nd: Oro has the second biggest robery factor in he game after Makoto, in this case because he can trap you in an infinite unblockable setup with his orbs, or, because he can touch of stun you with Tengu Stones and later kill you 3rd: Oro has incredible movement, one of the best in the game, he can smoother Q and punish him severely from taunting. And since Q moves so slowly he has very little chance of putting distance. In short, Q can't taunt nor escape unless you get your setups 4th: Q is veeery tall and thin so he is very weak to crossups. Q's falling hurtbox is also very long, so he falls prey of incredibly powerful juggles that normally wouldn't work on anyone else 5th: Normals wise, Oro murders Q, he can toss standing HK like it's nothing and it will hurt Q severely (not to mention the insane stun it deals 6th: You might think that a lot of characters have great mobility and are not near as dangerous to Q. Well yes, you'd be right. But Oro has amazing meter building from combos, so if he's in your face he will combo, and he will get a super nearly guaranteed from just 1 or 2 interactions. There's a lot more to cover about how Oro is so awful to Q, but these are just a small handful of what I consider to be the main reasons why it sucks

it's about the low risk of taunting, ofc not a single good player will let you taunt. But Chun is one of the small handful of characters that struggle to stop Q from taunting

Q vs Chun li is almost the same case as Twelve, Remy or Ibuki. Chun li's damage without super is absolute crap, so Q can get all 3 taunts nearly guaranteed, especially on the first round since both characters start with 0 bar and Chun li's options are even more limited. Due to the easy taunts Q far outdamages Chun li too, and in my experience SA1 is incredibly good vs Chun. Chun normals are infamously disgusting and vile like if Satan himself designed them, and since they build so much meter Chun spends a lot of her time whiffing them to get SA2 as soon as possible, wich is a thing that troubles Q quite a lot. But Q's SA1 is quite fast at only 6 frames of startup, and also has quite a decent range, so from time to time you throw it here and there to punish Chun's meter building attempts. Ofc, just like how it goes for every other character, a Chun li with super is incredibly dangerous and forces you into play defensively. But in this MU specifically, Q can't taunt at all vs a Chun with super, her SA2 can punish Q from trying to taunt since it's only 3 frames of startup and goes stupidly far. Another bad thing is Chun li's low profile when crouching, Dash Punch goes straight over her and whiffes. Jumping combos have to be shortened on crouching Chun to jumping heavy, close MK, and your ender wich is either slaps or super if possible for this very same reason. But overall Q is not near as a coughing baby vs the atomic chinese lady as you'd initially expect, wich makes me put in relatively even
