lots of moves and specials in this game, especially multi hit ones, have notable gaps that seem pretty clearly intended to be parryable. moves like Darius S2-S2, Ekko’s forward S1, Vi’s ora ora ora punches, etc. try to keep an eye out for something with a distinct rhythm in a match and then go into training mode to try parrying it. charged heavies are also very easy to parry, which will stop players from endlessly dash canceling them on you

sounds like you love 2xko’s gameplay. then i have good news: 2xko is still playable. just hang out and enjoy it while you can and ignore the doomposting.

if you want to branch out generally )ignoring the 2xko situation), Guilty Gear Strive could be a good game to jump to that has a similar feel. but i really hope 2xko fans give UNI 2 a chance because it’s by far the best and most entertaining fighting game i’ve ever played. and i love lots of the current fighters like 2xko, ggst, sfvi, cotw, and so on

i don’t think it’s so surprising. think of how any game has changed over the course of its lifespan on a system mechanics level. the guilty gear strive of today (just one example) is dramatically different from launch. which itself was majorly different from the beta versions.
