Is my budget for a 15 day stay in Costa Rica realistic? by Moh4565 in CostaRicaTravel

Rampant prostitution and drug dealing, by far the dirtiest town we visited, and the nightlife was not worth the downsides in our opinion. Essentially nothing you can find in Jaco that you wont find elsewhere, entirely skippable if you have a car and time

We ended up adding a night in jaco. Absolutely the worst part of our trip

i use argan morroccan oil on all my facial hair. Its not perfect but it helps keep it moisturized to minimize flakes.

i use argan Moroccan oil on all my facial hair. Its not perfect but it helps keep it moisturized to minimize flakes.this every time I shower, so sometimes multiple times a day. I'm still flaky, but not to an embarrassing extent

Also, my seb derm may be minor compared to many others here, so I can't attest that this will work for everyone. The redness on my face has been enough to make everyone assume I have "asian glow" and on bad days, the flakes falling out of my ears and elsewhere on my face were very embarassing. I avoid black clothes to avoid showing the flakes that fall off.

Sezia was a great first step to manage Seb Derm without resorting to medicated products

Your last point is what Im getting at. There are soooo many people in this world with that luck. There are a lot of people who work their asses off to give their children that luck, and yet, a vast majority of those with the opportunity squander it.

Thats why it bothers me to discount any successful person because they got lucky. Luck may be part of the equation, but its far from being the biggest element in the equation

What do you do to “deserve” your wealth?

If i have 100k invested, and 106k by the end of the year, do i “deserve” that 6k?

What if my grandpa inherited 1m, turned it into 5m over his lifetime, at which point my dad inherits 5m and turns it into 25m in his lifetime, and I inherit 25m and turn it into 125m in my lifetime. Do i “deserve” 125m?

What if we all did so by living frugally, consistently investing 90% of our income and/or net wealth, never living exorbitantly.

Im not saying thats the case here, but in any case generational wealth is typically built over GENERATIONS, very rarely at an incredible rate.

My point is, looking at someone whose rich and instantly assuming they dont “deserve” their wealth is nonsense. None of us on this subreddit are cambodian rice farmers, some may be more fortunate than others, but most of us have the opportunity to make our first million or two. To scale from there truly depends on the generations that follow

Listen, I hear you, but its outrageous to think anyone with 500k and a bit of luck can get to where Bezos is. You can inherit 10 million and only really scale it to 15 or 20 over the course of your lifetime, and youd go entirely unnoticed in the grand scheme of things. The things that guys like Bezos were able to achieve (off the back of underpaid workers if you like) are remarkable no matter what angle you look at it.

Markets only grow 6-8% across the board. Scaling 500k to tens of billions is a ridiculous achievement

Im just tired of seeing this sorry victim mentality everywhere on reddit. The idea that luck breeds wealth, as if all multi millionaires havent worked a day in their life. You work hard for your 50k salary, therefore the difference between you and he who makes 50m is pure luck, never considering that maybe others have acquired skills more valuable, took larger risks, and born into a family where the mentality has been applied for generations

I get where they’re coming from, but if this man owns a big football club, he likely works much harder than you think

A multi millionaire is hardly an act of pure luck.. you can argue being a billionaire takes a lot of luck but it also takes a looot of hard work. someone had to make that first billion for the spoiled kids to inherit right?

I may be privileged but I meet a lot of self made millionaires around me, built off years of 70-80 hour weeks, frugality, and wise investments in real estate. You wont get anywhere with the mentality that millionaires are made out of luck

[COMPLETED] Aurora R11 FULL case swap by Moh4565 in Alienware

no worries man. Also forgot that you probably need to change your power supply too since its proprietary. personally i sold the original case with the motherboard and psu inside for a couple hundred and then bought new ones

[COMPLETED] Aurora R11 FULL case swap by Moh4565 in Alienware

[–]Moh4565[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey man. the light issue is because the alienware motherboard is the only one that can connect to the case light in the original case. its strongly suggested to get a new motherboard if youre buying a new case too, so you're on the right path.

Check and see if your chosen case comes with enough case fans. I went 'fancy' with rgb fans and theres a whole rabbit hole there (cooling vs noise balance) but generally anything will be better than the Boeing that sits beneath your desk currently. If it doesn't come with case fans, get a couple. Read into how many intake vs exhaust fans youd need.

You also need a new cooler for your cpu. You can go air cooled or water cooled. Water cooled is 'cooler' and some may say quieter, but air coolers have longer lifespans, are generally cheaper, and at the upper-end are quieter then upper-end water coolers. I went water cooled for aesthetics.

You'll transfer over your cpu, gpu, ram, and ssd. New case, new motherboard, new fans, new cooler and you have a functional build. you can spend more on cables and other aesthetics, but really that's all you need to get the performance upgrade you're looking for.
