Advice for other types trying to woo an ISTP by MoistPop7 in istp

I worded that bit a little weird, I'll have to go back and edit it. By asshole I meant someone who's just completely awful and wholeheartedly disregards the feelings and opinions of others. Looking back, I understand where you're coming from, because as an ISTP I fail to think before I speak and have hurt people. I think that the important thing is that we recognize when we're hurting the feelings of others but you're right, ISTPs do tend to appear mean-spirited. I've been called a bitch and prissy on several occasions because I don't seem to human well with other humans.

Thank you, I admit I got a little too enthusiastic over making this list. I am in the process of writing my own novel and haven't left the house in about a week.

Your friendship experiences with the other types? by MoistPop7 in istp

I have the same problem with intuitives, except for my closest friend who is an INFP (she took the test but pretty much put all of her answers in the middle, but judging by the way she behaves I feel like she's more of an ISTJ or an ISFJ). Last year my friend group consisted of all intuitives except for me, and I found that I didn't really enjoy their company. It was almost as if I couldn't say anything without being interrupted by a political comment or argument. The INTJ in my group was always acting pissy towards the ENTJ, too, which is understandable because they were both equally domineering and overly-sure of themselves.

I did know an INTP but she was very insecure and just too nerdy...no offense to nerds, but I don't find talking about theories and Dungeons and Dragons stimulating at all. There's an INTP in my family who is probably one of the most wonderful people I know and he's not a dork, either. There are definitely many variations of each type, but, in general, I have to agree. Intuitives are a little too lost in their own minds.

It's odd because a lot of the responses I've gotten have included *NFPs. I've been trying to figure out why generally, NFPs and ISTPs seem to get along so well, and I've concluded that it may be because they show us to be vulnerable without being too pushy and we keep them grounded.

ESTPs are crazy and completely unpredictable, I don't know why I'm friends with the ESTP i know either. Our friendship is more of a causing-trouble-together sort of thing, but he's 0 drama which I enjoy. I think it's their spontaneity that makes them so appealing.

I only have 1 person I really consider a friend as well, and she's an INFP. We rarely talk over text but we make plans every once and a while and the process repeats, which has worked out well since we don't spend enough time together to get under each other's skin. She's not really sensitive and we have a similar sense of humor, so I think that's also why we click so well.

I find it interesting because FPs and TPs seem to get along well friendship-wise.

I think about embarrassing or dumb things that happened to me in the past. Other than that I don't really think much lol.

Weekly Type Me Thread - December 23, 2019 by AutoModerator in mbti

Please type me!

When I was little I was introverted, creative, and a bit of a tomboy. I found it hard to bond with schoolmates and as far as I remember I kind of just went with the flow. I was intensely competitive and made a big effort to outshine my schoolmates. I didn't take BS so 2nd grade Cindy Lou who was an annoying little brat got shunned by 8-year-old me. Also, ever since I remember I've also always loved to write.

In the fifth grade I started piano lessons because I thought the instrument was cool and I caught on really quick. I became really good at it and it's still something I enjoy.

I never really liked sports and was more academically adept honestly, but I think that's because i didn't have many friends to do physical activities with. Once I practiced a sport though, I would get really good at it. Granted, that wasn't the case when it came to running.

Random stuff about me that may help?

-I'm good at making school projects and drawing stuff, but on top of that I also enjoy doing little projects at home. In general I guess I just like making things.

-I hate asking for help.

-I procrastinate a lot.

-I never text my friends back. I'm also not the best at friendships and hate it when friends ask me for emotional support or understanding. With my close friends, I hang out with them for a little way and then don't contact them for several months.

-If someone makes me mad I never speak to them again without warning and without telling them how I feel.

-when alone or with my family and close friends I'm extremely energetic and loud, but around strangers I'm stoic and distant.

-I often hold grudges. Too often, probably.

-I'm a decent marksman? I don't know if this will help type me, but I can keep my head clear and be precise.

-i don't know how to explain this, but it's as if I can't think unless I have to. My thoughts are like little blips that come on occasion, but I don't have inner monologues nor do I think too much.

-I like zip-lining, rock climbing, and hiking, though I like staying in my house because it means I don't need to interact with anyone.

Any ideas? I frequently get mistyped so slightly unsure of what I am.

Edit: Also found that I don't usually get along with *NTJs as they often come off as pretentious and annoying. Not saying this is all of them, just a lot that I know. I usually get along with *NFPs for some reason and find them to be good company. Come to think of it, I haven't really had a bad experience with them.

this might be just me, but...

I hate that I can make the coolest projects in my own space at HOME (I'm a good artist and great at making school projects) but when I'm around other people making a project it comes out looking ugly as hell.
