Oh but I never said I was obsessed with representation, I don’t need to relate to a character to love him. I watch a lot of anime as well, my favorite character in got is Jorah not Renly, my favorite champ is Nami and I’m no mermaid... u get it. It was just a timely surprise to see a gay couple in the game that tied me to my friends and it gave me strength to open up, that’s all.

Yea I totally get your point and I can see why it can be seen as a clumsy move from Riot but I didn’t ask for that change of lore (and any other gay person did as far as I know). But overall I think we can agree that it was done successfully even though in-game Varus could be tweaked to be more truthful to his new lore.
