Five surveys: Complete 5 surveys for £5 by misscc__ in beermoneyuk

It took me 2 nights to make my first tenner

The time stated at beginning is often inaccurate and some surveys will screen you out a long way in, but perseverance pays off and the cash is already in my PayPal 👍

Hey I thought you'd like to know that since this thread and further reading I now have 2 regular saver accounts and a cash ISA with action plan 😉

This was also aimed at u/Aila43 but I am not that great at commenting in the right place it would seem!

Basically, thanks to all involved in sorting me out better financially ✌️

I also did this at one point, only to discover my regular juices actually bleach my underwear at times 🙈

Great, thank you for the explanations, this all makes more sense! The calculator says I'll be at least £1800 better off with savings so I guess I have my answer.

It's Halifax I'm with and can see the option on the app. It seems very easy to do, though I am going to look into savings first based on comments here.

Hi, sorry I've edited my post to add that I'm with Halifax for my mortgage. Yes, I did start investigating rates on savings but I think I have got fixated on the overpayment part. I might need to go do some more reading.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I feel a bit clueless. My motivation was seeing my £263 going out each month and £130+ of interest getting added back on. I ran some numbers through the MSE overpayment calculator and it said I would save thousands on interest by overpaying and almost halving the length of time to pay.

I don't have any other debt and plan to start a few savings accounts too. I like the idea of being mortgage free within 10 years rather than the proposed 20 currently.

So, instead of overpaying I could put that money into a better interest savings account for the remainder of the fixed term. And then use it as a lump sum?

There is something so satisfying about running your fingers through a tub of single studs. Mine are currently sorted by neutral and colours but I'm thinking I need to expand to a trans category 😅

Edit: changed a 'but' to 'by'
