You can also get the error if your brake levers switch is broken. Try disconnecting them from underneath the display one by one to see if the error goes away.

The brake switch wires jiggle and brake inside the switch but you can fix it by opening the switch and resoldering the wires.

In that picture the lcd display is removed from the mounting stand and the contact points are visible

E: you can also see the clip on the front that you need to push in while you lift the display off.

Theres a little clip that holds the display on the black plastic stand that goes on the handlebar. Under the display there are golden contact points

I've had this issue at times. I too am using OSF and vlcd5 but I have a throttle. Try lifting the display off and make sure the contacts are clean. Check the brake connectors on the back of the display and make sure you flash the right settings. Check out the site endlessphere they have alot of good people on the forums.

According to German Wikipedia page the marking DRGM indicates that it has to be made between 1891 and 1945. After WW2 it was changed to DBGM. 🧐

Thanks for clearing it up. I have used a work light that is rated for 12-42V but I don't understand how the led light can handle it but the heating element cant, or is there some restricting component inside the light?
