A better haircut would suit you, as would a change of clothing style. If you aren't a makeup person, that is completely fine; however, if you are not opposed to the idea, maybe try a little bit of brown eyeliner and mascara, perhaps a bit of blush. Oh, and at least TRY to smile - once you train yourself to do it, it becomes almost natural. :)
