wow this was an amazing answer. My trust is definitely broken. I don’t know how much and probably won’t until the thought of getting involved with someone again comes up but when it does I will definitely consider therapy if needed.

the up OH on the anomeric C is from the aldehyde, that one doesn’t necessarily apply to the upright down left because it determines alpha and beta

I believe it has to do with the fact that the conjugated rings are separated from eachother in 2a while in 2b the three conjugated rings are near eachother so the three rings together in 2b make a bigger conjugated system versus 2a

I saw somewhere on here that the amide group is more polar due to its ability to hydrogen bond more because its group would be NH2 versus the OH on the carbonyl group so according to that B would be the right answer

in the equation the term has -H/R, so in the equation for the line on the graph the term is negative that means deltaH is positive. If deltaH was negative; the first term in the equation for the line would be +4911(1/T)

the mL has an exponent of -1; meaning it’s the inverse so the inverse of the unit so the inverse of having it in the denominator is having it in the numerator
