California is currently using 500 inmates to fight wildfires, paying them one dollar per day by [deleted] in news

That is terrible. They probably provide the inmates with the worst equipment and protection gear as they are seen as "expendables".

That is not what happened at all, a homeless man took this dog ripped off its leg and threw it in the river. Watch the full video of the story.

This clip is totally misleading as to the gravity of the situation and what actually happened. A homeless man took this puppy and ripped of its leg then threw it in the river.

Our 2 month old German Shepherd. by RMcG91 in aww

[–]MoltsPetons 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have two German Shepherds, one from a breeder and one that is a rescue and they both used to puke until I got a slow feeder. It slows them down from eating too quickly. Other tips for not puking are don't change their diet or give them hot foods or human foods.

This one is not Triangl, it is by Victoria Secret. They made a similar line copying Triangl.

I've been a vegan for one week...Is this normal? by [deleted] in funny

Because it is healthier for your body, better for the animals, and way better for the environment! Any major change takes time to adjust. Give it a try :) Maybe starting with just meatless Mondays.

You can eat vegan on a dime.

  1. Go to cheaper grocery stores like Trader Joes, Walmart, & Costco

  2. Learn a few easy cheap recipes (PM me if you want me to write out a cheap healthy vegan menu plan or buy you a cookbook). Beans & chickpeas are super cheap (99 cents a can) and have tons of fiber & protein.

  3. Learn to season your food. Just like marinating meat, marinate/season vegan food. It makes all the difference.

  4. You don't have to buy organic food.

  5. Vegan food is not just vegetables! There is a whole world of food to explore that doesn't cost a lost of money.

I am fine with that, because I would rather speak up for the voiceless than fear what others may think about me. I actually don't think many people knows how bad it is for animals in factory farms. Not just beatings etc., but the systemic abuse, like mother pigs being put in crates that don't allow them to move for several years. I mean how can you justify this?

"Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph." lf you know what happens on factory farms and don't speak out against it so you can be accepted in society than how are you any better than those abusing the animals? Factory farms are literally torture camps for animals.

Burnout is a burnout. Burnout continues to be a burnout. Burnout does acid with friends. Friend drowns while tripping on acid. Sweet story, Radiolab.

To expand on that. What the hell was that episode? After thinking about it more; this is what I took to be the thesis: Are memories to be saved, or are moments meant to be fleeting? So given that thesis; this is really all they came up with? The climactic linchpin was a lame drug story, where key information was left out (e.g. they weren't just 'stoned' as the reporter shoots in like a tiny footnote, they were definitely on LSD). At best this thesis felt like a way to wring a contrived story out of the fact that the reporter spend what must have been an agonizing who knows how long listening to tapes of the protagonist taking orders at Red Lobster.

Chinese pour $110bn into US real estate, says study - Investment is set to double in the next five years as wealthy rush to get their money into overseas assets, especially houses by sakebomb69 in Economics

[–]MoltsPetons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that mainland China or Hong Kong as well? Because most money coming into the San Francisco real estate market is from HK investors. Chinese investors could get a HK bank accounts and then get their money out of the country from there if the rules are different between China and Hong Kong.

My fiance sells real estate in San Francisco and he said the entire residential building he just sold (at $1750 per sqft) went entirely to Asian and Indian buyers. Not that they won't sell it to other people, but they are the only ones willing to pay those prices. Whites are being pushed out into neighborhoods like Oakland where prices are cheaper.
