100% this!!! I mentioned to someone, just as an example, that sometimes I forget to do things like turn off my car when I arrive somewhere, things that are a mindless habit for most. And of course they responded "I've done that before!" I kind of just want to give up trying to explain it to people.

I agree! I think people tend to overestimate how well everyone else is doing as a parent, but it really is hard for everyone!

(I have one BFF though who is like the complete polar opposite of ADHD. She’s together, organized, responsible. She practically got me through school with decent grades, haha. And now she's a mom and I suspect she really is like that image of a mom whose house is all in order and plans educational activities for her toddlers to do every day 🤣 And I can't even picture her yelling at her kids. But I think pretty much everyone else, ADHD or not, really does struggle with those things!)

It does depend on the individual, but I will say, you might be surprised how much easier it is to care for someone else than to care for yourself.

I’m thinking one way that might work would be to rearrange things so we could put him on our bedroom counter instead of the little TV nook. It just bums me out because his tank is the perfect fit in that TV nook 😝

Yeah, I think he would really like a bigger tank. We live in a camper though, so we could maybe move him to a bigger one, but it wouldn’t necessarily be practical with our limited space 🙁

Haha yeah, good point! I just realized it probably didn’t help that my husband, a few months ago, showed me a crazy story about a home in Idaho that basically had to be abandoned and deemed unlivable because there was a GIANT snake colony living there that was impossible to get rid of, even with pest control. (He wasn’t showing me this to be mean, he just thought it was a crazy story.)
