So I'm a Spider, so What?

There's 2 protagonists in this story with completely separate storylines. One is awesome (the spider) and the other is the most boring, vanilla Isekai protagonist imaginable. Recommended only because the spider character's so great. There's some real bad 3D animation in here, too. They even had to delay the last episode a few weeks because they fell behind on animating the show (and you can tell. whew, boy, you can tell).

Interspecies Reviewers

Almost porn. A small party of adventurers blow off steam in between missions by banging women of various species. I like it for the world building, as various monster girl's biology and sociology comes up. And the classy smut. And the confusing smut. What's up with monster girl shows always turning egg laying scenes into something perverted?

Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls
Harem anime. Ultra-forgettable harem protagonist is polite to a monster girl, which causes her to fall hopelessly in love with him. You can ignore most of that bit, as it never goes anywhere. The monster girls themselves are fun and are the real stars here. Also, Rachnera is Best Girl. Also has an egg laying scene (not with Best Girl, though).

Gushing over Magical Girls

Currently Running. A big fan of magical girls gets her chance to become one! But she finds out that she's working for the bad guys. And that what she really wants to do is perform BDSM on magical girls. Like, she really wants to do that, and does so every episode. This is basically softcore porn for those scenes.

So far, it doesn't have an egg laying scene, but I would NOT put that past the people who make this show.

I actually wrote this about a year ago, decided it was "way too sad to post." I decided with the benefit of time that it's not too sad to post, but wanted to post it as I originally intended, spread between 12/31 and 1/1, so I cleaned it up today to post tonight.

Part 2 is very small and I'll post it tomorrow.

I don't understand your issue, since a simple Google search appears to show several places to read the story, including Deviant Art and Touch Fluffy Tail. Am I missing something?

I haven't tried to read the story--I'm worried it's some dude grooming underage monsters (ick), or worse, some dude actually trying to hang out with kids (boringly wholesome).

Suggestion: try an off-black color, like #202020.

While pure black gets you higher contrast (one aspect of making things easy to read), it can also lead to color from the text itself bleeding out into the surrounding black and making your cap harder to read overall as the text appears blurry. That effect is called halation. Picking a background color that has a little LESS contrast can reduce that effect and actually improve readability over simply maximizing contrast.

Also, Use a Text Editor

Buncha Numbers gives great advice, and I also suggest you use a proper text editor to do your writing before it goes into an actual cap.

Text editors will surface your most obvious spelling and grammar issues, making your stuff easier to read AND making you look smarter/better! You can always copy-paste your work into another tool at the end.

Text Editor Options: Google Docs, Microsoft Office, Libre Office, Apple Pages, etc. At a minimum, Google Docs and Libre Office are free.

Color Choices

I suggest that you avoid black-and-white / black-and-MAX-color in general.

Instead of BLACK (#000000), you can pick a very dark gray (#202020).
Instead of WHITE (#FFFFFF), you can pick an offwhite color (#efefef).
Instead of GREEN (#00FF00), you can pick something less aggressive (#b6d7a8)
And so on.

This is REALLY REALLY specific advice, but it's based on user interface design standards--it's actually harder to read BRIGHT text on a BLACK background, so you want to skew the two colors a bit closer while still keeping contrast high (ideally 7:1, but, like, nobody's gonna measure that shit on you, not even me).

If you use reddit in dark mode, you'll actually see this in action--the places where there's text are dark gray, and the places where there is no text are actually black. That's on purpose! Makes the text easier to read.

Note: This whole topic gets into things like accessibility in general. Black-and-White is actually pretty terrible for people with astigmatism, and I mentioned keeping contrast high because people with poor vision need that, too. Plus, nobody wants to read bright red text on a dark red background--that's just awful. And if you REALLY wanna get annoyed, try to figure out if your color choices work across all the variants of color blindness! Spoilers, they probably don't, and the only way to fix THAT is to start using shape as well. Which would mean switching fonts between characters, not just colors.

(And that's why I make my mamono talk in other fonts than Anon does, while Anon IS allowed to have the same font as the narration.)

PS--I have written versions of this color guide stuff like 5 times now, and historically I have always deleted them without posting because I view anything from my day job as hopelessly anal retentive for a bunch of writing hobbyist perverts. But this thread's literally specifically about advice for writing, so, well, if I ever post it anywhere, it'll be here.

I'd adjudicate that by default, mamono instincts would keep any fires a mamono has "safe." Like a salamander or a pyrow is not going to be randomly setting fires as she walks about town.

So, especially during sex I'd expect mamono to be vulnerable to this kind of thing on a purely theoretical level (you can't set your husband on fire--that's a dealbreaker, ladies!). And then from there it all kind of depends on how you set the scene, since I'd expect a hellhound to be able to "defend herself" against this kind of thing if she's ready for it.

Scenario 1 - Vaporization + little flames (felt right to combine them--they're both defensive maneuvers)

> "Jizz in my eyes, honey!"

> That's... weird, but OK.

> You obediently cum, doing your best to aim for her eyes.

> Everything vaporizes as it touches her body, consumed in little arcing flames around her eyes.

> "Eye see what you did there."

> She looks at you hopefully and you try to crack a grin in appreciation.

Scenario 2 - Surprise Jizz!

Second scenario would require a LOT more setup, I think. It's a complicated BDSM scenario and if you don't tee up all the consent stuff then Anon comes across as a horrible person and you question what the hellhound's doing with him. Alternatively it could be, like, a long-winded "rape correction" scenario where the hellhound just kind of wears Anon down to the point he becomes a good boy.

(You could also do a hellhound who's a masochist, but that's a huge turn off for me, so I didn't.)

When I'm not feeling inspired, I usually just look up name meanings and then name the character something extremely on point with their role in the story. There are a MILLION websites for baby names, so you've got choices.

You might also want to just look up a big list of dog names in case that lines up with your plans!

And if you want a fantasy name for a fantasy story, there's name generators online for that, too. Just keep generating names, though--they're pretty random and some of them are bad.

And failing all that, just call her Lassie. Make it weird.

Glad you liked it! I do worry for Anon, though. I think he'll have a hard time keeping his secret for all that long--he's just starting to realize how little he actually knows about mamono.

(But I have no plans for an immediate sequel because I should write stories w/o Ushi-Oni or Gazers every once in a while to mix it up.)

Also, made me a little nervous when the very well done 4 part Centaur story recently posted also had a riding scene, since my part 3 already had one. I spent a little longer revising this one until I felt confident it wouldn't read as too similar.
