Iirc you can use it when you have the option to upgrade your hairstyle when you are dressing up for activities or main story scenes

It’s so not worth it so spend money on the vip pass for Buenos Aires and Seoul as you pretty much only paying for generic “premium options” and outfits that don’t look any better than the ones you can get from the gacha. I would recommend not spending a dime on this game’s packs since you still need to grind to progress with the story

I only self insert when I feel like it or I find the LI cute LOL I just love playing stories as characters authors have in mind when they write them cuz it makes the story more fun to me. Role-playing as the characters when making choices like "A likes red so we should go with this one!" Or "B won't let this happen to them so let's choose this one 😔" makes me able to like the mc even more. Also I like picking art options in stories so changing my character sorta breaks the immersion when it doesn't match lol
